really? I mean, really? I would hate to find out my dad was a sleazeball rapist, but I'm not going to feel a ton of pity for his family. They should be more gracious and remorseful to his victims |
You aren't in their shoes and hopefully never will be. You don't know how you would react or what you would feel until you walked a mile in their shoes. Their entire world has been turned upside down and I do feel for them. They didn't do this! They have nothing to be remorseful about because they are not the ones who hurt people. |
Is there one or more than one Cosby rape apologist on this thread? Jeebus |
God I hope not. The sicko PP above you and the one defending Camille are enough. |
Actually they do. His wife has a lot to be remorseful for with her attacks against these women. But I’m sure it will be a cold day in hell before she apologizes. Much like it will probably be before you realize how distorted your thinking is. |
No one is saying anything he did against those women was ok. But it is ok to say he made great tv shows, was a pioneer and a philanthropist... AND a serial rapist of the worst kind. |
She has been with Bill since she was 19 years old. Read how Bill and Camille met and how their life together evolved. I feel sympathy for her. That does not mean that I am "apologizing" for any and all wrong acts perpetrated by her husband. I think that her disbelief is totally understandable. Her world has been blown apart. |
You are in fact apologizing for her. Camille could have chosen to stand by her man and said nothing. The fact that she went on a rant against these women and tried to vilify them is horrific. It is indefensible. Her log relationship with him means nothing when she attacks women her husband raped. It’s mind boggling you keep defending her. You are a rape apologist and it’s disgusting. |
She believed 110% in her husband. The man she had been married to for decades and had raised 5 children with. Of course she stood up for him, her life with him, the father of her children. She had never met the man that these women were describing - that was all foreign to her. Read about her story with Bill. Have some sympathy for this woman. She trusted her husband. |
Um, they met in a bowling alley on a blind date? And her mom didn't want her to marry him? So how does that excuse her again? |
They met and he commuted from NYC to Maryland (where Camille lived) in a vain attempt to win her parents over. At some point, her dad grew weary of Bill's persistence and reluctantly gave his blessing for his daughter to marry Bill. Camille's mom was still not quite convinced but decided to go along with her husband and o.k. the marriage. Camille married Bill at the age of 19 in 1964. They went on to have 5 children together while Bill grew his stand up comedian career. The Huxtables were actually inspired the Cosby family. The fact is, Bill and Camille were the real deal for a long time. Camille completely trusted Bill and was completely blindsided by these accusations. |
^sorry for the typos |
Listen also to what Phylicia Rashad has to say about all of this. She worked with Bill for years and never saw this side to him. |
I will not have sympathy for a woman that vilified 62 women who were raised by her husband. Shame on you for continuing to defend her actions. |
He was found guilty of 3 counts of "indecent assault" on one woman, not 62. You don't need to overstate what he was actually convicted of to see the seriousness of the conviction. |
