DC Urban Moms Farce

Anonymous
Hi, Um, I am new.

I don't have a big vocab, and have no idea what a Farce is. Could someone please explain, as I want to play along.

LOVE IT!

Farce - a Yiddish word for light hearted criticsm, often through emulation. Sometimes spelled in Hebrew with a second "a".

His girlfriend has made some off-color comments to me about his excessive foreskin. Do you think it's too late for me to get him circumcised? Can anyone recommend a good moyle for a briss?

it's "mohel" not moyle and "bris" not briss, really don't use language you have no clue about-it's offensive.

Lighten up. This is the farce thread. I am going to give it a guess and assume that the correct spelling was not used on purpose.

it is not just the spelling, the entire context is offensive. Perhaps if you understood the purpose of a bris you would understand that it is offensive and frankly, dumb since it makes no sense.

The farce has been ruined by this person, who really needs to lighten up and pour herself a strong cocktail.

Could someone please compare and contrast Little Folks and St. Alban's?

Over the weekend I saw 3 men in the kitchen, they were pitching in with clean up. One was washing another taking out the trash and one drying dishes. Amazing...and one dad picked up and cleared out all the toys in a room. I felt a little embrassed b/c I did not think about doing that and no other moms went out of their ways to help either.

Another time I saw a man wipe my little boy's face full of dirts (either he was grossed out or was just a super dad or both)...I was amazed.

My sister would often stop by for dinner with her kids but she doesn't offer to help clean up, it was always her husband that helped out.

DH also is amazing with kids stuff, he does 1/2 or more now. I grow up with a typical dad who NEVER did anything around the house so I feel lucky in this area.

Almost all of my friends husband pitch in just as much and so I am not sure why so many moms are complaining on this site. Maybe it just takes awhile to kick in since our kids are now older...so there is hope for others out there!

Sometimes I think I am the lazy one

HYSTERICAL.

DH slept until 8:30am this morning, but managed to jump out of bed just in time to make it out the door to work. AMAZING... I mean, he managed to sleep through the alarm clock, the dog barking AND the sound of children yelling at 6am through-out the house. BUT he STILL got up and went to work with NO time to spare. He is always amazing me!

I'm really terrified of my children eating, licking, breathing in, or otherwise consuming the silica-infested play sand in my backyard sandbox. Someone told me that beach sand is available off the coast of Oregon, but I'm thinking of flying in something from Hawaii, maybe from the black sand beaches in Kona? Or would the black sand permanently stain the tennis-whites and other designer clothing that I just bought for my 2 year old girl?? Thoughts anyone??? TIA!!!! -

Ladies (and the few Gents),

I have a big problem. I haven't had "relations" with my husband for quite some time now. He is refusing me, saying that I am too orgasmic, and I keep throwing him off rhythm. Is it really above the norm to have 20 orgasms per session?

I have tried thinking about baseball, counting sheep and remembering gruesome scenes from movies, nothing has helped. I am in the need for suggestions that work.

Good news! There's a cooperative sand de-silicafacation meetup and soy latte potluck in the Granolan Heights of NW every other Tuesday of the month. Except for August when many members are in Belize like us 8) collecting sustainable sand. Should you go the Kona route over the lower impact Yucatan blend, try to neutralize your backyard carbon footprint by getting outfits at the hemp store in Adams Morgan (actually there really is one, no joke). The clothes can be easily handwashed in Rock Creek. Our au pair from Bhutan says this is better karma than using the high efficiency machine we imported from Germany. At least it's recyclable stainless steel!
