My family been members of Adat Shalom for the past few years and have been really happy there. Reconstructionist Judaism is a perfect fit for us - all the ritual of a conservative practice with progressive politics and an intellectual rather than faith based approach to scripture. I'm happy to discuss more off line.

If you are interested in learning more about Adat Shalom's religious education for children, please visit the Torah School! Spring Open House

My (same-sex) spouse and I, and our kids, have been members of Adat Shalom for the past few years and have been really happy there. Reconstructionist Judaism is a perfect fit for us - all the ritual of a conservative practice with progressive politics and an intellectual rather than faith based approach to scripture. We have become very close with other LGBT families who are also members.

If you are looking for a synagogue, and particularly for Jewish education for your kids, please consider attending Adat Sahlom's Torah School Open House

My family has had a wonderful experience for the past two years with the Torah School at Adat Shalom, a Reconstructionist synagogue in Bethesda.
It is a very progressive community. There are a lot of trans-racial families (including our rabbi's family), parents with adopted children, and gay and lesbian parents.
I am happy to talk with anyone who wants to speak to a parent of current Torah School students. Contact me at vster74@gmail.com.
Following is information about the upcoming Open House.

I'd like to hang a swing from a tree limb that's too high for me to reach with a ladder. Any suggestions for whom to call to get help with this? And what material to use to extend the swing's chair to reach the tree limb? I'm in lower Montgomery County.
Thanks!

I have a black tie wedding to attend in early August. I need a maternity dress appropriate for the occasion in size XL or 14. If you have one that you'd be willing to lend, rent, or sell, please let me know. Thanks! You can email me directly at vster74@gmail.com
