My family been members of Adat Shalom for the past few years and have been really happy there. Reconstructionist Judaism is a perfect fit for us - all the ritual of a conservative practice with progressive politics and an intellectual rather than faith based approach to scripture. I'm happy to discuss more off line.

Bring your children, see our school in full swing, and:
· Learn more about our focus on nurturing children’s appreciation of Judaism within a Reconstructionist setting.
· Ask about our special one-year rate for non-members enrolling children in Torah School grades K – 2nd grades.
· Meet Rabbi Julie Gordon, Director of Education, teachers, other parents and students.
· Join us for our weekly community oneg lunch at 12:30 PM and meet Rabbi Fred Scherlinder Dobb and Hazzan/Rabbi Rachel Hersh.

Located in Bethesda’s Carderock neighborhood, Torah School classes are held on
Saturdays from 9:30 AM to 12:30 p.m. We also offer Wednesday afternoon Hebrew School
classes and Hebrew educational alternatives to best meet your schedule.

I am starting to look into Hebrew schools and this is helpful information. Do you know if there is childcare for this open house?

You can bring your school age child to participate in the open house. Also, every Shabbat morning babysitting is provided for free during services!
