Other than Richmond, any other VB tournaments this weekend?
The source data is from Fidelity, so I'm not sure there should be an expectation that "the government" would have and share the aggregate information as suggested.

Vanguard publishes a similar report, but I think they do theirs annually (in June) ... https://institutional.vanguard.com/insights-and-research/report/how-america-saves.html
Coming off of years at The St. James and Paramount (and no prior club experience), I would look at where the teams practice. You are looking at two or three practices a week after school. We only steered our player towards clubs that made logistical sense for our family.

As an example, a club like Metro (Travel), which only had practices in DC and Maryland last season, ultimately didn't make sense for us coming from western Fairfax County. Same goes for clubs in Ashburn are "farther" into Loudoun, knowing that we we pass practice locations for clubs like Vienna/DMV Elite (Chantilly) and Virginia Juniors (Herndon).

I also wouldn't be too concerned right now about only trying out for a "regional" team. Clubs that field multiple teams aren't going to have exclusive tryouts for each, in my experience. Tryout weekends are going to be a madhouse, and all potential players for a particular age group will start off together. Eventually, there will be some separation, but I can only imagine that a club will take the top X players it can to fill Y number of teams.

As tryouts get closer, the clubs will start publishing what competitions they plan to attend. I suspect that even "regional" teams from our immediate area could venture to Richmond (Volley by the James), Hampton (M-APL), Raleigh (M-APL), York (M-APL, I think), and Philadelphia (NEQ), and other events, so any 'regional' label may only mean that you aren't getting on a plane ... but you could end up on the road for several hours each way for a few weekends.

Here are some clubs that I haven't seen listed in this thread that may be worth checking:

Blue Ridge
American
Vienna Elite
Dulles Youth
No Panic
Tier One
VAVA
Last year (having completed one club season at that point), we went to one or two clinics for each club she targeted early in the fall. The idea is that we didn't want her to be a "new face" to the club/coaches during tryouts. She ultimately attended some invite-only clinics closer to tryout weekend. DD accepted a spot at Paramount after this process.
Not quite sure this fits, but last night I watched a HS varsity scrimmage between an LCPS school and an FCPS school. There were some high-level plays during the match, given that this was just the first scrimmage of the season. My kid, who knows players on each team, said that one team has three D1 commits (and maybe a fourth) ... two from Metro and two from Paramount. That team also had at least from player from Blue Ridge and another from VA Juniors. That's an impressive amount of talent within the boundaries of a single high school. The other team had at least one VA Elite and two VAJRS players (maybe more).

Admittedly, I'm kinda jealous knowing that my kid's public school doesn't have that much talent within its boundaries.

My high schooler is hinting that her VB team will participate in the Flint Hill Invitational in September. I can barely find any info on this event, but have stumbled upon some other in-season tournaments. I'm guessing some tournaments are better than others. What's the general consensus on these events? How many teams usually play at these events?

30-31 Aug: Virginia Volleyball Showcase (hosted by Richmond Volleyball Club)
07 Sep: ISL Playday
07 Sep: Heritage (Invitational?)
14 Sep: Alexandria City Titan Clash
14 Sep: Endless Summer Tournament (Virginia Beach)
21 Sep: Crossroads Classic (Justice HS)
21 Sep: Flint Hill Invitational
21 Sep: Hayfield (Invitational?)
28 Sep: Battle of Bethesda
12 Oct: Tiger Paws Invitational

Any others ... particularly any that don't only involve VHSL Class 6/FCPS teams?

.
I don't know if I would call volleyball a spring sport, but the high school season eats up most of the time from now until club tryouts. I do see that some travel clubs are already having clinics on nights and weekends.

...

I don't think FPYC's volleyball program has been revived.

...

A friend of mine is involved with the volleyball program over at Vienna Youth (VYI). I thought I had a better website that was shared with me, but this is all I can find right now:

If I can find more info, I'll share.
Here's an initial schedule for the matches featuring Patriot District teams.
Is CHRVA going back to spreading tryouts over two weekends for the 2024-25 season? (I understand it's a possibility ... U10-U14 the first weekend and U15-U18 the following weekend.) I don't yet see anything posted on the CHRVA website.
I'm still wrapping my brain around the usual top performers within CHRVA, but do Metro and Paramount have that much turnover year after year? In other words, haven't some of these local teams been together for awhile? (My casual observation is that parents and players from each club seem to know each other fairly well ... as if they've all known each other for more than a few years.)

In any event, it is a bit humbling to see how CHRVA teams are fairing thus far in Las Vegas:

16 Open - Metro is 0-5 (last in pool of 6)
16 National - Paramount is 2-3 (3rd in pool of 6)
16 American - MVSA is 0-6 (last in pool of 8)

17 Open - no CHRVA teams
17 National - Metro and VA Elite are both 3-2 in their respective pools (Metro is 4th out of 6 in pool, while VAE is 3rd out of 6 in pool)
17 American - Paramount 6-0 and will play another 6-0 team to complete pool play in the morning

I know there are other CHRVA teams in other divisions, but I haven't taken a look at those results. I did see that the Old Dominion region teams are winless in National (540 VB 16s and 17s are both 0-6) and have a combine one win in American (ECVC 16s and 17s ... where the 16s have the lone win, I think).
Depending on the school, there may be a freshman team in addition to JV and Varsity. At my kid's FCPS HS, I think there were (past years)/will be (this year) quite a few beginners on the freshman team.
It looks like most of the GJNC schedule is out for Las Vegas. CHRVA teams in the Open divisions will have to put in some work!

My kid's FCPS HS team has apparently been asked to play in this year's Flint Hill Invitational. I cannot find a ton of info on this event, so I am eager to see how her HS team measures up to non-FCPS teams (to be fair, they aren't even close to dominating all other VHSL Class 6 teams in the area). Now that we are little more familiar with the club scene, it likely won't be surprising to see some familiar faces ... albeit affiliated with schools and not clubs.
Willard isn't directly accessible from Rt. 50. You have two primary options from the parkway:

(1) You can go west on I-66 and the take the exit to Rt. 28 North. Willard is the second interchange once on Rt. 28.

(2) Take the Rt. 50 West exit, as already mentioned. After a few miles, you can turn left on Walney Rd., or Rt. 28 South. I guess you could also go to Lee Rd. or Stonecroft Blvd. to get to Willard. All of those are left turns coming off of Rt. 50 West.
