The first picture is gorgeous! Are there any others that blend that gorgeous classic style with mid-mod(?) like that? I love English Country and Hunt Country style and am currently VERY stymied by the asymmetrical 70’s fireplace in our new house!

Thankful for you, EyeCandy!

Let's see what I can find!

Maybe a little moody and cozy...

These are Eye Candy threads! I scour shelter magazines and blogs to fulfill requests in these threads. I think most people here have decorated themselves and are looking for inspiration from professionals.

Where would I find the photos you are seeking, though? I am happy to look at some other sources.
Maybe a few mantles?

An outdoor fireplace...

Very simple, but people are sometimes stymied by asymmetrical mantles. Interesting idea!
How about some trees?

I'm not a nutcracker person, but I love all the greenery here.

The car wreath is a nice alternative to those Rudolph kits.

The more I look at it, the more I like it. If you have a big door, I think it works to go big.

The little trees in front might be a wee bit too much?
Why hello, friends! I've been holed up in Bunny's barn for a bit (old DCUM Home joke, iykyk) and thought I'd look for some 2023 holiday decorations to share.

I shared a picture from Kelly Nan's house a few years ago. She's a blogger who was all about maximalism in a big, new construction home. She used to have trees all over the house, including two in the dining room. The dining room this year...

This is downright minimal for her. The little wreaths are different.

Moving on to some professionally decorated homes...

More to come! If the rules are still the same, I can get 4 images in each post.
modern, clean, comfortable
I like grays, neutral off White and darker greige colors.
tall ceilings, chair rails in the dining room, a chunky fireplace with substantial mantle

The new house sounds beautiful! I actually love it when people put some modern things in a traditional home. Let's seen if we can find some pictures with modern pieces in traditional homes.

I'm just going to show you where I got this image because I think the whole post might give you ideas: https://jane-athome.com/modern-dining-room-ideas/

The chairs might not be right for your taste, but I like the mix here.

This might be a bit too close to modern farmhouse, but with different chairs, it might work for what you're trying to do.

Not sure about your style for other parts of the kitchen, but here are a few ideas...

This last one is by Heidi Piron, one of my favorite kitchen designers. Her work is so interesting to me. More pictures here on her website.
In watching pro designers on Instagram, I think they're still doing a lot of wood and white, but I'm also seeing black and blue again. Colors, in general, are warmer than a few years ago.

Lots more variety in door front style and hardware, too!

I sometimes think the designer show houses are where designers use trendy things that they haven't been able to get clients to use. Christopher Peacock's kitchen for the 2019 Kips Bay show house was olive green. The 2021 Kips Bay house in Dallas had a sage green kitchen. The 2022 Kips Bay Palm Beach kitchen was kelly green! 2022 in Dallas was black and white (with red, patterned wallpaper).

Anonymous wrote:Dear eye candy: can you post some fireplace/mantle inspiration pics? Specifically around a linear gas ventless fireplace and a floating wood shelf as your mantle look.

Tia!!

I don't see many professionally designed spaces with floating mantles. There was one in my house and I removed it because I didn't know what to do with it myself!
