We have a large set of windows in our home office that face the front of our home - directly next to the front door so you see straight in. They are only about 2’ from the floor and I’ve been considering a bench there to place some of my houseplants (I’ve become quite the plant lady during COVID and that room gets great sunlight) but would consider a console table if I can find the right styling. I am having a hard time envisioning it or searching for it. Thank you!

Ditto about your style. Traditional? Modern? Finish preferences?

The Fox Group only seems to build houses with grand, two-story foyers. You might click around in their portfolio for some ideas. This is from one of their houses:

I wish the full fixture was shown here, but it's interesting with the mix of wood and metal.

A big, open lantern is a clean look that would work for lots of different styles of home. You can find them at a range of prices and in lots of finishes. Don't ask me what is going on in the rest of this picture...I just thought the fixture was a good example!

I was wondering if anyone would mind me going there...

If Amazon can start pushing holiday deals, perhaps it's okay to look at holiday decorations?

Now that I'm looking more, I think that AllModern version (by TOV Furniture) is a knock off. I think the original is by Chelsea Textiles. I looked at her portfolio and see some other items from their website in her work. It must be a company she uses regularly.

I also found this on the Perigold website (AllModern and Perigold are owned by Wayfair). It looks like a higher end knock off:

The three-drawer one: https://www.allmodern.com/furniture/pdp/ballad-3-drawer-solid-wood-nightstand-a000650397.html

Give me some time and I can probably track down the one and two drawer ones.
Oops. Forgot to log in. That's me! ^^^
Oh hello there, friends! I made a holiday thread last year, but I was looking for simplicity instead of over-the-top stuff. Happy to take requests!

A full-service designer can do that, but perhaps you should look for someone who specializes in corporate apartments or AirBnBs since this is a rental "under" your business?

When you say "contemporary," do you mean trendy or do you mean modern? What brands do you prefer? Just so you know, we have a Ligne Roset in Glover Park. Design Within Reach, Baker (check out the Baker Luxe and Kara Mann lines), and BoConcept in Georgetown. Roche BoBois in town and in Tysons. Michell Gold & Bob Williams near Logan Circle (and maybe also in Tysons, but I haven't been out there in a bit). There's an RH at Tysons and they have the RH Modern line, of course. Those are the national brands...we also have local places like Theodore's, Hudson & Crane, and more. If your reference point for design is Pinterest, some of the places I'm going to recommend might be more high end than you are expecting.
Anonymous wrote:OP, I’m so happy you are here. We are just beginning to plan our kitchen reno. I was planning grey shaker cabinets, white counters and white walls. But, I feel this is pretty “cookie cutter” right now. So, I’m thinking dark blue cabinets and everything the same. We will need to live with this for at least ten years, so I need something I won’t get tired of. I’m not very adventurous, do you think blue would stand the time? Thank you, this is my first kitchen redo and I am excited, but scared.

I love blue and am probably the wrong person to objectively tell you about it's longevity in kitchens. I find blue kitchens so appealing and I'm not sure my taste will change!

Though some people say two-tone kitchens aren't going to last, you could always go blue with one part of the kitchen and then the option is there to paint it white if you get tired of it?

What are everyone’s thoughts on white kitchens? So many white cabinets and carrera quartz countertops. Is has a clean look but if not done right, can look sterile.

OP, we are in the midst of redoing our kitchen. We are selecting a carrera quartz countertop, light brown wood floors (engineered HW), and we came across a cabinet color that’s a beautiful light brown/gray (lighter than the floors). I was originally concerned about the lack of light grey/white but found myself gravitating towards the light brown/gray cabinets.

Can you curate some pictured for me?

Your project might be done, so I'm not sure this is helpful, but let's see if there's anything new in the brown/grey world.

This one is def more brown than grey.
