We are looking at a house right on the road. It is not rt 7 or the pike but its still a major road. The house looks great. What do you say?
Why is this area losing population? My impression was the opposite with Tysons city being built and Amazon HQ
We saved the 20 percent for our budget for a few years but now have a business opportunity, so we dont want to pay it all to the house. Would this make our offer less sexy? Our monthly income is high, so there is no question of not being able to pay, why would the sellers care if they are still getting their asking price from the bank? What do you think?

Our realtor adviced against it.

It is an amazing house tho. It is def not builder grade, everything is super high quality, amazing neighborhood, at the end of a quiet cul de sac, amazingly prepared by the realtor owners. But it doesnt meet all our needs, it doesnt have a basement for example. And it has a kind of weird ups and downs for bedrooms. The living space and kitchen is breathtaking. Has two fridges, two ovens, bathrooms are designed with taste. Whoever ends up buying it, I wish them all the best. And I am assuming it might hit 2 m.

Lol “taste” is highly subjective I guess.

It is. I highly recommend Bourdieu’s La Distinction book on that matter
And yes, it has a very mountain cabin like atmosphere

Hi,

I see in this forum lots of people commenting that houses are built/renovated with builder grade material? How can you tell that from a picture? I understand that it takes an educated eye but if there are easy red flags, please tell me!
OP here-All good advice, thanks so much!
It is like Great Falls of MD

What is your ceiling?

It was 1.5 when we started looking last summer. Now its 2 m and still losing homes we give offers to

There are, like, 6 houses in McLean that meet OPs price range. Even empty lots are going for $1.6m in parts of McLean right now.

We have been looking for a year now, our 4th offer was rejected yesterday, it was for 2.1 m. We are not looking for a McMansion, not too big. Around 4000 sqf yet not too dated. THERE IS NOTHING OUT THERE. (We are looking Mclean and Great Falls due to our commutes)

Thanks y’all!
