Ah, that took me back! My high school boyfriend drove that exact car- inherited from his grandparents- in the late 1980s. The backseat of that car is as big as a twin bed- and I speak from copious experience in the back seat of that car!
Lol true indeed

Lol

White gal here. This is so true! I tend to feel this white guilt for all past injustices against blacks and find myself over-compensating.

Be yourself ...you owe us nothing

But in high school I drove a yellow 1969 Plymouth Satellite.

It was faster than the speed of light.....

Do you miss that car ?

Love it. I learned how to drive in a 78 impala. It was 10 years old when I learned. Loved that car.
Yeah great cars..easy on maintenance ..good on gas (depending on if you swap the v8 small block for something bigger )

Understood
I thought you was referring to pedal bike(that's what I was speaking on not a dirt bike/motorcycle /scooter)
Anonymous wrote:youngblackdude, I've noticed you've posted on quite a few forums (fora?) just recently. Did you just find DCUM? The bloom's not off the rose yet, I guess.

Anyway, cool that your car's 37 years old! Rock on.

We don't have a car. Our ride is bikeshare, Metro, and walking. Sometimes Zipcar.

I've been reading this website for past month & some change but decided to make a name & contribute to this website from a different prospective (black 29 year old view).....thanks for the car comment ...bike riding is cool I would definitely try to ride my bike from baltimore to dc if I could (bike got stolen though)

I don't mean to be rude but since I've move to the South I've been to a few "famous" places to eat Soul Food and also tried it at people's houses... it has not won me over. The veggies come across as overcooked, Okra, I could throw up. I never was a fan of mac and cheese (even as a kid - yellow, cheese, ew) and I don't like fried chicken (long story, my front teeth have issues and I can't pick off the bone.) So, I'm sure some people love it but I'd chose ANY other cuisine if given the choice.

What borough are you from..Manhattan? Its some good spots threw out city with good soul food
Yeah I see alotta people saying Europeans ..but also its heavy with alotta the black/Hispanic youth..when I made this topic thats the first too that came into mind..but that's a new one for me since I never really seen alotta foreign europeans
Fellas Do you like these sweaters or prefer sleeves to your sweaters?..I brought 1 but never wore it I feel a little to nerdy in them all of a sudden(when I brought it I thought it might be cool
.not anymore )no disrepect to those who like them .

Anonymous wrote:Not particularly. I like Mac & cheese but find the rest just okay. I certainly wouldn't blow my diet for it.

I can respect that@diet...I watch what I eat more times then not also
Good responses...making this topic has now made me hungry lol

I live food from all different cultures.

I love fried chicken and BBQ. I can't eat fried chicken often because it is bad for you. I love collards but I make them myself. I like to go out to eat for food I can't make at home... Fried chicken... But I normally take it to go.

I consider them southern food. African Americans from NY or Chicago would not consider most food you mentioned aa food.

No research .just was curious..before I signed up I've read & come to conclusion not alotta blacks on this website.now I have a few white friends but I know they don't eat it..was wondering what others thought....I'm from ny me & family & friends call it soul food(southern soul food is the sane thing )
