Uh. No one was forcing anyone to have an abortion. Which poor people wouldn’t want: - sex education - free/accessible health care - free/accessible birth control (incl LARCs) - maternity & paternity leave - childcare - and access to abortion if that is what they decided was the best option for them? |
Exactly. Pro-birthers are at their most hilarious when they pretend they are saying something revolutionary when they point out that poor people love their kids and do a damn fine job raising them despite the difficulties they face. WE KNOW THAT. That has f-all to do with preserving choice. We don't want to tell people to abort if they don't want to. We want to prevent unplanned pregnancy, and fully support the babies that are actually born. |
Interesting... |
Exactly. Unlike the pro-birthers. |
? Abortion is not a contraceptive for starters. The very definition of a contraceptive is that it prevents pregnancy. You are wrong that abortion as a choice will be abolished. It will always be a choice because it will always be available somewhere, but the question is more who will be able to afford the choice (middle and upper classes always will), but poor women in Alabama, etc. obviously will be without the choice (so they will have more respect for unborn life in your scenario I guess). |
Let's see. |
+1 The main people this will hurt are poor people. F them, right pro-birthers? They deserve to be punished. |
Even if you manage to ban abortion in every state, there will be underground providers selling abortion pills; and people will fly to Canada and England and Mexico ... if the have the money. I'd fly to Canada in a second to get an abortion if I had to. |
This is probably true, but it doesn't justify killing fetuses. |
| Abortions will always take place. Just not for the poor. This is just an attack on the poor. SOP for the GOP. |
Murder will also always take place. Work to make abortion rare. Why not?????? |
| Isn’t the rationale for not implementing gun safety regulation that criminals will get guns anyway and the loss of life is a unfortunate consequence of maintaining our rights? Seems like the same could be said for abortions, so why bother restricting them further when people will get them anyway and the loss of life is just an unfortunate consequence? |
| We can be like the Philiippines one day. After we ban abortion nationwide and we can have millions of abandoned children living out of dumpsters and feeding the human trafficking industry of the future. |
So this is really about your failed sex life? You are jealous. |
Having unplanned pregnancies and abortions is not a badge of successful sex life. It's a badge of being trash. |
