What damage? Please give me some photos. All I see is snow.

Cynthia Ryan says she closed Masala, a jewelry and crystal shop on York Street, for a week because she wanted to keep her staff safe from harassment by maskless protesters.

Helena Jaczek, minister of Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, said small businesses had been particularly hard hit by the protest.

“(Businesses were) forced to drastically reduce their hours and, in many cases, they’ve had to close their doors (because) they’ve been harassed and intimidated,” she said.

Oh no, our government overlords had to go a whole week without rewarding themselves with new jewelry.

Hundreds of Canadian police swept through the country's capital Saturday, arresting protesters and clearing out vehicles in an attempt to bring an end to a three-week protest against COVID-19 restrictions.

At least 170 people were arrested Friday and Saturday, after police began the crackdown of the so-called Freedom Convoy on Friday morning. Officers, some in riot gear, approached the protest zone and scuffles broke out in some areas as police, including some officers on horses, pushed the crowd back.

Protesters were gone from the street in front of Parliament Hill by Saturday morning. Police said on Twitter that protesters were "aggressive and assaultive" throughout their attempts to clear the area, and pepper spray was used to disperse them. They also said children had been brought to the front of the police line.

Wow right wing heros pushing children to the front lines…how typical.

Government freezes assets of donors.

How does any of this fly in a free and Democratic country?

Maybe the government hacked it?

No the guy who hacked it has purple hair and is all over the internet proudly describing what he did and very visible and easy to find if anybody cared to look. The government freezing of assets is surreal and dystopian.

How did the PP NOT know that? What sources is he/she reading?

Tucker didn't mention it.

I’m serious. They guy is out and proud about it. How does one NOT know who did it?

But, you didn't fear for them during the almost 2-year lockdown? When they were forced to close their small businesses? Somehow 3 weeks of a few shops downtown being closed is what is unacceptable to you? But, being closed for two years by the gov is ok?

What do you mean? Who did I fear? Businesses weren't closed for two years, though they were restricted.

These businesses closed due to human aggression, and noise levels.

Guess what? There were a few streets blocked, that is all. I made it to work safe, downtown, every single day.

I am glad you made it safely. But your experience doesn't match those of the people who live in that area or the businesses. Like the Byward Market which is a popular area.

Really? They were not closed to the public from December 2020 till June 2021? With a couple of weeks of being open in March 2021? That is news to me!
Cause, here in Ottawa I very clearly remember not being able to go to even Value Village for months.

But they weren't closed because of large trucks blocking the roads or their owners being aggressive.

There were no terrorists here. But if there is some big punitive backlash coming, would guess a lesson learned here is that you don’t get anything by playing nice.

That's not true, it just takes awhile. Look at Martin Luther King Jr. and the civil rights movement of the 60's. Do you think it just took one protest to end state-sponsored racial segregation?

They were not aggressive.
Explain to me the difference between being closed bcs the government forced you to be closed and choosing to close for a week BCS some trucks parked there? I fail to comprehend how is it less bad to be closed for months and months due to government-mandated than being closed for a week by your choice?

All my Canadian friends were turning their noses at the U.S. hating on Trump, disgusted with January 6th, appalled by the Merica and Mericans that were so red necky and awful and lacking common sense.
Quite frankly, this is a good thing to humiliate you all high and mighty Canuks that had your noses up in the air at us Muricans!
