So Justin has been in "power" since 2008? Isn't that 14 years now? |
This whole thing seems so astroturfed, I’m having a hard time taking it seriously. |
Canadian here. In Ottawa right now, but just to visit family. It is serious and unfortunate. This illegal occupation has affected many private citizens and businesses in the area. I feel for them. |
It is. This whole anti-vax thing is contrived and inorganic. |

But, you didn't fear for them during the almost 2-year lockdown? When they were forced to close their small businesses? Somehow 3 weeks of a few shops downtown being closed is what is unacceptable to you? But, being closed for two years by the gov is ok? |
Really? So why did they not do all this 2 weeks ago, but had to get Emergency powers? Do those come from Dougie boy? |
Guess what? There were a few streets blocked, that is all. I made it to work safe, downtown, every single day. |
+2 seriously, try paying attention before running your mouth |
The most significant thing to come out of these protests is that we all saw how the Canadian government froze bank accounts of any and all opponents. ![]() Cynthia Ryan says she closed Masala, a jewelry and crystal shop on York Street, for a week because she wanted to keep her staff safe from harassment by maskless protesters. Helena Jaczek, minister of Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, said small businesses had been particularly hard hit by the protest. “(Businesses were) forced to drastically reduce their hours and, in many cases, they’ve had to close their doors (because) they’ve been harassed and intimidated,” she said. https://ottawacitizen.com/news/local-news/government-announces-20m-fund-to-assist-small-ottawa-businesses |
