Yep, One thing Covid has shown us is that countries that are believed to be led by "freedom loving people" are really authoritarian states. Look at Canada, Australia, New Zealand. Thank goodness for federalism in the US or we would be just like them. |

Not here, in the DCUM bubble. Almost everyone here wants a part in tyranny food chain - right down to the busybody screaming at you to put a mask on while waiting in line at an outdoor ATM. They love and aspire to be a hall monitor telling others what they must do, no matter how irrelevant or insignificant. And they worship people with power to force others to obey them. It’s a mental illness that has morphed into a combination of govt and something akin to religious zealotry. Call it Covid-Sharia. |

Because I have no desire to live in a perfectly safe hermetically sealed nannystate where I have to constantly abide by the ever-changing “the science” whims or else be harangued for not doing _______ to “stop the spread”. Yeah, I don’t want that. I want a regular, dangerous type of existence where I take my chances, do what I what, am left alone by random a-holes screaming at me to put a mask on while walking my dog, and I’ll accept whatever fate deals me. But the last two years of “two weeks to flatten the curve” have awakened all the little small-scale dictators in lots of people who must get sexual arousal in the act of telling others what they can and can’t do. I’m tired of it. I got a vaccine. I got a booster. I wear a mask inside every damn place I go. I STILL got covid in spite of all that. Enough. Normalcy is going to return, no matter how much that frightens and saddens you. We can do it the easy way, or we can do it the hard way. But it’s coming back. I’ve had enough of this. |
