NCFC has its own internal league just like MSI and Arlington. It's that big.

Yes, they join up forces. The DMV waters down its teams because there is so much money in the area.

It's all about playing D1 soccer.

No one cares about watered down this and that.

Trouble is, college placement is affected by team performance. For most players, there is greater college coach attendance at championships than at showcases.

Colleges recruit players not teams. Lots of teams have talented players.

Not necessarily. College coaches will be at events with a high volume of teams. They do not walk around the complex looking for the playoff games instead of showcase games. They’re all just games.

+1. They also are not trying to discover new players at games. That would be a waste of time. They are looking at players who have shown interest in their program, they have initially scouted and like (via talking to scouting network, watching videos) and who are not committed already. Those are the factors that determine what games to watch not team performance. They have a schedule/plan and are not browsing the best games for players.

Finally. Good post. Thanks.

Having stood on the sideline and handed out team brochures, I can see this is not entirely accurate. Yes, most of the coaches have plans but there were a number of coaches just walking by who stopped to watch at least 10-20 minutes of a game. Seen it at multiple showcases.

Sure, coaches have holes in their schedule and will fill it by watching a game but in general they have a plan regarding the games they attend and watch.

If there is a conflict where they have two players on their list at one time on separate fields, they will generally go to the higher level game.

No, they will go to the priority recruit first.
