Do you honestly believe that a new patch on the arm is going to somehow transform Loudoun Red? Did the new patch keep all of the current 05 Red players or did they move on to DA elsewhere? What you are going to find out is you will pay DA prices to be on a less talented team as the one it was the year before. Enjoy. |
Yeah I didn't think you would man up. But I know your daughter plays for FCV 05 or 07. Gotcha. |
Hey FCV Dad. How long before Coach Gus gets fired by the club again? Is he still collecting checks and putting money in his pocket for side training? Christian won't like that...tisk tisk.
|
Wrong on all accounts. |
I understand now why you are so angry at Loudoun Red. They beat your girls team for so many years. I get it. You drank the FCV Kool Aid but had to always watch Loudoun win. Sour grapes are tough to swallow... |
Let's sing your little FCV song together. Who are who are who are we? We are we are 0-3. |
FCV dad - people in glass houses should not throw stones. |
Loudoun parents getting crazy. We're in their heard. Dancing the Mackareni while taking shots and laughing.
Maybe Gus is with Darryl Gee somewhere hamming it up |
Not PP nor FCV, but clearly PP touched a nerve for Loudoun folks...
It doesn't really matter what team PP associates with, the environment at Loudoun was the heart of the discussion question since Loudoun is the one who is moving into ECNL with a DA team right next door. I would assume all Loudoun parents would already know who is leaving their team for FCV opportunities groups. Is that accurate? |
I will admit FCV Dad did touch a nerve with me because he kept throwing stones at Loudoun while not really standing for anything. More annoying than anything but now I get it. It’s just sour grapes. It hurts when you keep losing to the same club. Not much news on FCV recruiting. I think they are having a tougher time than they thought they would and teams are not full yet. Holding additional sessions. Also hear they want to keep numbers low to max playing time. |
Loudoun wanted to partner with Spirit. Would have significantly hurt FCV. Deal fell through because Loudoun wanted coaching positions and input. Spirit denied their request and maintained complete control and vision. Good for them!
LOUDOUN was now homeless...cold and afraid... they desperately scrambled...and I mean scrambled..and at the last minute struck a deal with FCV because they knew their kids were fleeing...6 months later...poof..no more deal. They grabbed the ECNL slot that FCV vacated. A slot Loudoun could have never of gotten on their own in the prime of ECNL. Loudoun couldn't even get DA over FCV. Say that 3 times fast. REPEAT: They knew. The entire Loudoun SC board knew what I've been trying to tell you...but you say I'm making it up. |
Dear parents of younger kids. Please make sure your opinions are based on experience. FCV does not recruit (And I'm not FCV). The kids go to the best team they can get on in the best league. For Loudoun kids, that was FCV ECNL or Mclean ECNL....they go...they go...they go...you don't need to recruit. If Loudoun had girls DA and FCV didnt, guess where the talent would be...and guess what the Loudoun parents would be saying then. Hypocrisy at its finest. Blame Loudoun SC for failing their players. |
What sour grapes? The simple fact is every year 3-6 Loudoun Red kids leave Loudoun at U13-U14. These players are not replaced by suddenly “developing” the next man up. That is not how it works. You happen to believe that some how being granted ECNL will change the fact and kids will no longer leave for DA, either for FCV or Spirit. But in truth, they will, they have before and they will continue to do so. How many kids left the 04 Red last year? 3?, 6? 10? Ask around and find out. And I’m sure your 07 team is awesome sauce now but believe me by U13 things change. Parents and kids start thinking more about their needs and the last thing they are looking at by then is GotSoccer rankings. The first crack in the armour starts when parents start asking about “who the next coach will be?” Then come the concerns about “will my kid keep their role?” Coaches don’t view the same kids the same way. Doubt then creeps in. Then there is the one kid who makes the leap and then convince a friend to follow and then then before you know it 4-5 kids are looking elsewhere. It happens all the time and again, if you think the allure of a second best league arm patch will keep your stars together when you haven’t even played a minute of 11v11 with a size 5 ball you are naive. This isn’t even a Loudoun thing, this is just how it works everywhere. But regardless, with all sincerity, no matter the pressure you will be under in the next two years just make the decision that is best for your kid and your kid alone. |
LOL..YOU GOT DEEP INTO THEIR THOUGHTS ON THAT ONE...BUT IT'S SO TRUE |
After 3 pages of this debate, I will chime in that basically I had to stop reading. Our DD has off the record offers for both DA and the ECNL at several clubs. As the parent of a rising U13 daughter (one of several) who has played at several small and big clubs and considered various options out there near Leesburg, I will tell you one thing from the perspective of Beltway Folks: most think very poorly of FCV and would have their DD join ECNL at Loudoun. That's the impression after being in this scene for many years with multiple kids. Sorry, but I would send my DD to BRYC, McLean, Loudoun, Arlington, and W. Spirit before even considering FCV. I can mention the few specific examples I have observed, but this is more of a reaction to the general reputation of FCV. The club actually matters more then DA vs. ECNL. |
