DA vs ECNL vs everything else

And yet...Loudoun keeps bleeding talent to FCV

All these stories and opinions are great. They mean nothing though. It doesn't change reality.

As the parent of a rising U13 daughter (one of several) who has played at several small and big clubs and considered various options out there near Leesburg, I will tell you one thing from the perspective of Beltway Folks: most think very poorly of FCV and would have their DD join ECNL at Loudoun. That's the impression after being in this scene for many years with multiple kids. Sorry, but I would send my DD to BRYC, McLean, Loudoun, Arlington, and W. Spirit before even considering FCV. I can mention the few specific examples I have observed, but this is more of a reaction to the general reputation of FCV. The club actually matters more then DA vs. ECNL.

Some people at Mclean apparently don't think that.

The thought that anyone near the beltway is going to drive past McLean, BRYC, Spirit or Arlington for Loudoun ECNL or FCV is laughable on its premise.

FCV recruiting is not going well this year. Wonder why?

I agree the club matters more. FCV needs a complete overall to attract talent. Most of the coaches are terrible. Parents care only about winning and will step on your kids throat to move their own ahead. It’s a terrible environment for girls. Women coaches flee. Girls are yelled at and cry when they don’t score.

Club has been in financial trouble and former owner dumped it. He was the only reason they were in ECNL. DA saved them but not for long. You can’t keep the doors open on a business with their reputation forever. The day of reckoning is coming.

Many choices are available to avoid them. Seems that trend is starting.

Doesn't seem like they were saying that ... all those distances would be ok if you lived in Reston ... just that FCV would be low on list

You seem wrong on this to think they represent MYS .... just the opposite .... never part of the demographic or zip. MYS is staying put.

I went. They are going to try to have another round of open ID sessions, and then a round of invite only sessions. Supposedly, everyone will be notified and told whether or not they made the team.

Coaches will be announced soon - definitely before offers are made. Same director (Oscar ?) as the boys' side.

Rosters will be between 16-20, plus the development players (which play and practice with the DA team on occasion).

Playing other sports is allowed, and they do have some waivers to allow for high school ball. But waivers are for kids in private school who have to play a sport, or are on scholarship, etc.

Anything else you want to know?

^^^Thank you!! This was very useful.

Did they give a timeline for the next open ID session/invite only session?
