I agree. Jewish leaders are calling for peace and the ones I have heard speak are very clear on discriminating between Palestinians and Hamas.

I think this protest was being promoted as something it really wasn't.
These were far left groups. "Jewish Voice for Peace" supports BDS, and in some statement, defended the Hamas attack by blaming Israel.

The group "If Not Now" were also there. They are also left wing and not representative of Jews in Israel at all.

I agree that academia is very left wing. But, I also think that the pro-Palestinian groups are more vocal, but not the majority.
I do blame our education system for the pitiful schooling our youth has received WRT Israel and the Middle East.
When we have our youth actually supporting terrorists with their rhetoric, our education system has failed.

The IDF announced that it has neutralized the commander of Hamas’ anti-tank missile system in the Gaza City Brigade; and a terrorist from the Hamas naval forces, and an arms and terror funds dealer.

Israel can do this under law as part of a just response provided minimize innocent civilians.
