SG would just send the funds and then they would release NG. If it was them, then SIL took extra meds for her and she is fine. Might be hiding in Mexico while waiting for ransom to come in.

What SIL? What are you talking about?

Annie Guthrie's husband.

So she is a sister not a sister in law. You seem hopelessly confused.

SIL in this case means son in law.

I agree with this. Would love for her to be found safe, but it seems unlikely at this point.

For the record, I will be extremely surprised if there are any family members involved.

By next week, it will become an even bigger national sensation. Trump will comment about it during a press conference. Savannah was one of the first to interview many of the Epstein victims so it’s interesting her mom is missing

The past two weeks has seen two different fatal shootings by ICE. Yes, rather slow.

Old news. This one will die out soon too with no new information.

I thought the ransom note stated that there would not be any further communication, with the last deadline approaching.

Why would a real ransom letter not include a way to exchange person for funds?

This is pure insanity to me.

Who goes thru all the work to kidnap someone and then doesn’t have a way to process communications?!

Amateur or impostors who are scamming them. The ransom has to be fake like JonBenet.

It’s such a sad story. Watching the Today show while working from home or getting the kids ready for school has been a guilty pleasure that my family makes fun of me for.

Savannah and the rest of the crew are like cheery, cheesy friends who are there day after day. When Shaneille was absent for months, I worried about her family and hung onto the few messages she shared. It turned out her husband died from colon cancer. He had been extremely fit, a runner who supported her to run her first marathon. Earlier, Jill got breast cancer, became even thinner and lost her hair, and happily, came back, giving courage to other women facing this cruel disease. These hosts become part of our lives, and we root and grieve for them. I even love Jenna. Now the such has taken a macabre yet surreal turn, giving updates on this tragedy and then pivoting to silly topics and small talk. I find it hard to watch, but know it’s even harder for the hosts.

The same reason you connect with them (they're in your home daily as cheery freinds) is the same reason why she might have had a stalker or attracted the wrong kind of fan.

I don’t understand why people don’t think this case would not get much media attention. Savannah has hosted the opening ceremony and been a huge part of the Olympics for the last decade. She also has hosted presidential debates and anchored NBC coverage on election nights. These are events that get HUGE viewership around the country. she also hosted the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade which hundreds of millions of Americans have on in the background of their Thanksgiving preparations.

Most Americans are very familiar with Savannah Guthrie. She’s not as popular as Taylor Swift, but most Americans are going to know her and are going to be interested that her 84 year old mother was forcibly dragged from her home in the middle of the night.

Further, she hosts a national morning television show. Do you actually think that the today show wasn’t going to lead their coverage with our colleague’s Mom was kidnapped and taken from her home??!?!

Of course this was going to get national and sustained coverage. It was no surprise that the president called us out and offered her condolences.

No one with any common sense thought this wasn’t going to be a huge news story.

Agree--and a huge number of people who watch her show are probably women who are Savannah's age (with mothers who are her mother's age) or elderly women the age of the mother. This story will resonate with them.

It's also just rare and shocking for the elderly parent of a famous person to disappear and be the target of what looks like a violent crime--remember when Michael Jordan's father went missing? If we learned anything from that, it's that the hurtful conspiracy theories that go around (remember when everyone was saying it had to do with MJ's gambling debts but then it turned out it was just a robbery/carjacking b/c he was driving a nice car) can be entirely wrong and hurt people.

And as someone said, how would he spend the money. Would he just disappear? But to where? Makes no sense. Unless he owed people money

Also this seems way too sophisticated.

This is me, Savannah’s age with a similarly aged mother with whom I am extremely close. I am riveted and horrified and have never felt such sadness for someone I don’t know. It is total para social behavior, but I can’t help it. I am feeling deeply.

If it was someone she knew, she’d have gone willingly and there likely wouldn’t need to be blood. If it was the son in law, it would be easy for him to say hey there’s a fire or carbon mo oxide or whatever, you need to come with me, and she would have.

A cna, housekeeper, handy man etc would still know the layout and habits, and they could have passed that info on to a boyfriend (even unwittingly) who then came in and did the deed.

No matter who did it or why, it’s a really awful thing to have happen and I hope they receive closure soon.

Son in law TC’s band member has a criminal record with charges of burglary, robbery, theft, and embezzlement.

The way it works is you send the bitcoin, it is received, and them your loved one is dropped off somewhere. This is common in Mexico and South America.

Maybe he circled back to Nancy’s home at 2am with some buddies after finding out from friendly Nancy that she’s loaded and Savannah’s mother.

Yes they located the Uber driver and interviewed him.
