So so soft. Thanks mom.

Do you really think you'll be able to avoid playing against these boys in college, crying 'not fair'?

The bulk of top 20/25 rosters are at least single if not double hold-backs because thats what college coaches want, i.e. bigger, stronger, faster, more mature.

This^

I get that on paper it could be frustrating to play against a team with some older guys who have reclassed but if they are one of the best teams in the country (and you want to be one of the best teams in the country and prepare your kids for the next level) you should play them. Iron sharpens iron, etc.

WCAC, MIAA, and IAC teams are loaded with holdbacks. Difference is most DMV holdbacks repeat early to try to ensure travel 'A' roster spot starting in elementary/middle school. If those kids stayed on age they wouldn't standout. The Lawrenceville, Culver, Western Reserve kids were already stars on age. They tend to repeat later in order to be viewed as 5/4-stars instead of 4/3-stars. Culver's roster may be older than most top DMV teams, but not by much.

I've never heard of a 21 year old playing locally.

There are no double holdbacks playing locally. The oldest a player will be during lacrosse season in the dmv will be 19 by rule. If there are schools hiding then that player probably stinks bc he would garner too much attention. The reclass academies rosters start at age 18 and work their way older.

IAC, MIAA, and WCAC all have the same rule. If you are 19 before 9/1 of your senior year, you are ineligible to participate in HS athletics.

Hill Academy, Culver, Western Reserve have no rules. Likely a roster comprised of 17 - 20 year olds.

This clarifies rationale for certain transfers out of area.

It also clarifies that many double holdbacks do play in the private leagues around here until the reach 19 and they PG.

I wouldn't call it many, but there are more than 1-2. It's crazy kids like the WAPOPOY and the kid who should have been from Landon both were told to reclass to a factory and those teams will play traditional schools.

Culver is going to beat Landon tomorrow worst than they beat up SJC. They are that good!

I wonder if Haverford is experimenting with different goalie in second half. Gilman, Bullis and Loyola all had second half comebacks.

Haverford played Jackson Gillis (Notre Dame commit) the entire game against Loyola.

I agree these is no shame in losing to culver but they were curb stomped yesterday. But look who the Cadets have beat…

IMG is 2-4
Boys Latin 2-2

Boys Latin is way down this year based on how it performed on their annual spring break trip.

Lil Hoyas have better wins than the Cadets and you could argue so does Landon.

The top 5 - Bullis, Landon, PVI, GP, and SJC - haven’t really done anything to show separation from each other yet.

I wasn't that impressed with Culver. They had a couple of garbage goals and only a 2-3 when it was actual 6v6. SJC's defense is good. There were a ton of penalties in this game on both sides. Most of Culver's goals came via man up. SJC lost a key Sr. to injury in the first and they were never able to recover + Culver's goalie was a wall.

Interesting, it seems there must be something leading to all these second half collapses.
