Good game, both teams played hard. Bullis has intimidated some teams this season because they are very physical, one reason you see a lot of complaints about officiating in Bullis games, people wanting calls. St Albans appeared to come ready, maybe too much, took something like 9 or 10 penalties to Bullis' 0 or 1. St Albans got their money's worth on a few penalties. In front of both nets was a dangerous place to be, not dirty just rough. Game was back and forth, tied 8-8 with about 2 minutes left. Then a one goal game until virtually no time left. Bullis closed, and showed why they are at the top of the IAC. But St Albans came close to stealing it. Bullis goalie made a few great stops in the 4th Q. |
This is St Albans, who recently lost to The Heights? |
Just goes to show how much parity there is right now. While there's no great team this year, there are more interesting and competitive games from the area's top 10 or so teams than ever before. |
And the Heights lose to DeMatha yesterday and this Stags squad is very underwhelming this spring. At the end of the day, if you don't show up ready to play, mentally and physically, be prepared to be up-set. Parity is here. I also didn't expect GC to take it to SJC yesterday, they dominated the Cadets in the 2nd half. |
Landon was smaller than Prep, but the Bears were more physical. Expect another rematch next week. Get your popcorn ready, as it will be another instant classic. Would be awesome if GP could make it a night game so more peeps can attend. |
| Not sure if people have seen inside lacrosse and USA lacrosse rankings but using those lists you would get a different ranking than what is presented here. |
I saw smaller and not more physical. Crowd size was very small compared to the heyday of the rivalry when games were played at the same time they are now. |
USA lacrosse doesn't even have Landon in the top 50. |
No kidding, the crowds of today don't even come close to what the crowds resembled during the Giblin - Bordley era. I didn't think either team was that physical yesterday. Also, I don't think the officials even threw one penalty flag yesterday. |
Playing for next year is dumb. Sure, they’ve had a meh season but aren’t they still one of four teams that could very conceivably win the conference tournament? And aren’t those the only games left? |
|
When was the last time SJC won the WCAC ship?
|
That suggestion almost certainly came from the parent of an underclassman who would benefit from sitting the seniors. The transparency of some posters is stunning. |

The IAC playoffs are set. The top two teams, Bullis and GP, have first-round byes.
Bullis plays the winner of EHS vs STA GP plays the winner of SS/SA vs Landon. Semi-finals are slated for next Tuesday, May 5th at the higher seeds. The IAC championship is scheduled for next Friday, May 8th. |
| Will SSSAS give Landon a scare? |
Anything is possible. I’ve seen all three of Bullis, GP and Landon play and there really isn’t that much difference between the three of them. As the score of these games show. Bullis defense might be the difference maker. |
