The Eagles have been losing out on marquee recruits to SJC the past few seasons. The Mater Dei pipeline has shifted back in GP's favor. HC Dane Smith is beginning to lock down some of the Olney talent and keep them home at Good Counsel.
My gut tells me, GZ best days as a national powerhouse are likely behind them. The lack of commits in the current 2025 and 2026 classes supports my point. |
Early 2025 rankings
Top Tier: 1. SJC - the senior transfer Hailey gives them the edge they need on the offensive end. The Cadets are a very balanced team across the field. 2. Landon - Bears have the horses in the midfield and bring back their entire starting defense from last spring. Similar to SJC the Bears will be well balanced across the board. 3. Bullis - the Bulldogs will go as far as Jackson Mahar will take them as he can take over games. Bullis brings back itd entire offense and fogo. Depth will always be an issue. Tier II: 4. GP - Little Hoyas always have the athletes. Big holes to replace from 2024 class. Noah Han (2026) will be the Hoyas QB this Spring. Hoyas defense will be strong. Expect some growing pains for Prep early in the season given they will be young 5. Gonzaga - Eagles departed a massive 2024 class especially on the offensive end but bring back the best LSM in the region in Cicotello who constantly caused chaos for opposing teams when clearing. I’d argue he and Jackson Mahar from Bullis are the two best players in the DMV next spring. Similar to Prep, Gonzaga is always very athletic but will be young this spring. Tier III: 6. GC 7. PVI 8. DeMatha 9. EHS 10. STA Lots of talk about the Good Counsel Falcons getting over the hump this Spring. Time will tell. PVI brings back a good portion of their roster from last year so they should be better. Episcopal was young last year and added some off-season transfers. DeMatha brings back a core of its team but has a new coaching staff. |
Prep will surprise teams this spring, don’t think the drop off will be as big as some people are projecting.

STA? wrong list |
SJC ‘27 class is probably its weakest in a decade. ‘28 is a bit stronger but that program is faltering. |
Is the cuse commit playing? |
been told he is ineligible to play this Spring |
prep player ineligible? why? can't be for grades or for assault |
Tiers by the end of the season: 1. SJC - strong in every class Landon - very strong senior class Bullis - top player in the area plus some 2. PVI - will squeeze 2 more seasons out before the campus change ends them being relevant GC/GP/GZ - Depending on who wins their matchups 3. GP/GC/GZ - GP is really thin besides the 5 star, GC is trying to break through, GZ's players are mostly untested. 4. STA - 4 good players every year isn't enough The Heights - will be a more competitive game than given credit for Dematha - All the coaching changes puts them outside the WCAC top 4 SSSAS - If done right, could be a quick turnaraound 5. Top public school - Robinson? Langley? 1 win against any private is considered a success Episcopal - It's a mess. |
Whats going on with Episcopal? |
Can't field separate varsity and jv teams which isn't a huge issue except they literally can't get 25 players for 2 teams. Other schools had crossovers but nowhere near this extent The jv team had first time ever kids picking up a stick as starters. The school's teaching philosophy has families looking for other options and the lacrosse families have found willing homes in other boarding options in the northeast. The move of Madlax to the campus may help in the future but not this season. |
Someone has NO CLUE what St. John’s has on the roster. Future is very bright. |
SJC boosters living on this forum, what else is new.

Show me a better 27 class in the DMV. The 27 SJC class is actually very deep, but at the moment they don't have any offensive superstars. But then no one does in the 27 class. |
The Heights have the best 2027 offensive player in the DMV.
Whether or not he stays, TBD. |
