NYC mayor declares 'emergency' due to migrants

These are people who initially broke our laws by entering our country illegally.
Now, they are attacking cops. Deport them.
They are proving that they do not respect our laws.

Debit cards with up to $10,000 each for illegal migrants.

This is one of the most scandalous things I've read in a very long time. If even half of this is true, it's a disaster.

Simply dropping of bundles of debit cards with up to $10,000 on each of them is madness. There's no other way to put it. Just plain madness.

And paying $53 million to a genuinely random service provider with absolutely no track record of handling this kind of operation BUT with deep ties to the massively corrupt nonprofit-industrial complex of NYC -- simply as an administration fee! -- is insane.

That we've been led to believe the TOTAL PROGRAM COST was only going to be $53m is also unacceptable when in reality the actual program is clearly destined to reach several billion dollars.

That's several BILLION dollars in untraceable cash payments to illegals who have absolutely no right to be here in the first place. No vetting, no qualifications, nothing. Free money just handed out, apparently.

I understand that the initial program intent was to give food aid to some of these individuals, because most of the food served in the shelters was being wasted. However flawed that rationale may be (and it's deeply flawed), this program is not that. This is a massive dump of taxpayer cash, with no accountability.

All of this as our city budget is stretched to the breaking point. I hope there is some official clarification on exactly what this program really is. Because as it stands now, this is simply another slap in the face to New Yorkers and Americans who are sick of their government putting the needs of illegals way above all others.

All of this because this country is UNABLE or UNWILLING to have normal, timely, legal immigration and asylum procedures. .

This goes on for decades and decades. Legal immigration has been a mess. No party and no president has done anything about it. And no Universal ID.
Now that migrants have cell phones and are much better informed they have taken to exploiting this failing system. No matter the president.
Republicans are just posturing. They won’t fix anything either. They have business interests that profit from illegal immigration.

It makes sense that newcomers head to communities where they have friends or family. It makes sense they head to communities where others speak their language.

The government has been doing this forever. It wasn’t too long ago the media covered those flights. Rs are now doing it as a political stunt to make a point. Shrug. Same difference.

You can see how many people enter the US every week/month. The government posts that info (including demographics). The numbers are crazy high.

The DC mayor begged for help before the NY mayor. They realize they can’t shoulder the burden of a constant influx of people. Nobody can. 5,500 migrant students have been enrolled in nyc schools in recent months. Think about that impact alone (ignore the obvious housing crisis).

I’m a bleeding heart liberal, but even I can see we have a problem. The numbers are too high. This is largely economic migration. And the end result is some Ds will reach their tipping point with this issue and vote R because of that. I don’t want another R in the White House. I certainly don’t want Trump againI think the Ds need to adjust their immigration plan if they want to win. Even Latinos who are here are annoyed (per recent polls), and the Ds seem ignorant to that data.

China refuses to take back their citizens. What happens when a country refuses to take back their citizen s who are being deported? Is the USA forced to keep them?

China refuses to take back their citizens. What happens when a country refuses to take back their citizen s who are being deported? Is the USA forced to keep them?
