VHSL Girls Lacrosse Spring 2023

What's even more impressive about the 12 saves is that the Madison coach is the CV goalie's travel team coach. So if you don't think the Warhawk shooters had a pretty good scouting report on where to place it, you aren't giving anyone enough credit.

Wasn't me. It's a interesting idea, but it wasn't me.

Unlike you, I include my name. But you keep trying, just keep hiding behind that keyboard.

Your kids played a great game last night, a strong match between two heayyweights. I'll always welcome a game against a strong team. Win or lose, we all know you get better by playing strong opponents.

Good luck the rest of the season!

Thanks. Your daughter is only going to get better playing games like that. Especially as only a sophomore. Good luck the rest of the way (until we see you in districts). Now with something we can both agree on - go out and beat Oakton!

Hi Anonymous!

Joe Morice here, the goalie's father. You'll notice I'm including my actual name.

Let's get something straight - Madison played a great, complete game last night. They did play physically, and you know what, it's a contact sport.

I believe our daughter played well. She had 12 saves against a well designed Madison offense. Perfection is unattainable, right, but all things considered she played hard and she's got a million times more guts than you do.

Madison played a good game and they won.

As to your comment, this is our family's first post here. My wife and I generally avoid this thread (I heard about your comment from someone else) because we have a little less than zero respect for anonymous commenters, yourself included.

As to your opinion of our daughter as a player, I'll be working the grill Saturday at Centreville all day, come find me. I'm 5' 8", a cosmetically not awful 246, and am 48 years old with an acceptable but not too bad amount of gray.

Come by. We're making burgers, hot dogs, breakfast burritos, and a barbecue platter! Fingers crossed the rain holds off.

You can also reach me at my phone number below.

See you Saturday!

I’m 6 2” 240 grey hair also and with another team playing Saturday I’ll gladly stand by you but I know the anonymous poster doesn’t have the balls to face you. Sorry buddy this is no place to single out individuals and I was at that game. Your daughter made some amazing saves. As a sophomore she had composure and grit in such a big game!

Brother, come by the grill! Good luck to you daughter and her team this weekend!

We appreciate the compliment and will pass it along to Rey.

Look, right, it's a anonymous message board where adults are talking about kids. I had no illusion to civility when I got here this morning. I will say I feel like there are more positive comments than negative, which is a nice change to pace.

This clown, though, while I don't think I've met this person, we've all known this person a hundred times, right? They're living vicariously through their kid, they never lettered in high school themselves, and they're constantly whining about how someone didn't pass to their kid, someone didn't block for their kid. And the audacity of this person talking about team chemistry... try having ever played a team sport and then, maybe, you can talk about team chemistry.

Their anonymous BS is an insult to their own kid's hard work. They are unworthy of riding their kid's coattails, and they are most definitely unworthy of the barbecue platter.

Joe

Don't mess with us goalie dads. We've spent years living and dying on every shot.

I was on your side at breakfast burritos Joe!

I’ll second the pp sentiment that playing tough games will serve the CV goalie (and any serious player) well. But that is where I diverge, I’m pulling for Oakton. Madison deserves credit for being better than expected this year (given all its losses to graduation last year), but the 9-0 Cougars are not only easily dispatching opponents, they are getting better as the season progresses. Their JMU commit probably had six or seven goals last night, but the team scored 23. Lots of players making a difference.

I personally think the Oakton RI commit is much more solid than the JMU commit. Not taking away anything from either player as they are both very good and should easily be nominated for ALL-xxxxx, but I also think that Oakton did not face some strong defenses. Last nights Westfield game I heard was not challenging at all, as Oakton had their way with them both on offense and defense. I still think that any of these teams could beat each other on any given day, which should make for a fun competitive post season.
