I don't tip and I'm proud of it

Tipping is archaic and I don't believe in it. Other countries don't tip either and we need to get into the business of not tipping so we shift as a culture towards providing employees a fair wage.

When in Rome, do as the Romans.

Now if you are a provocateur, you do you.

I too do not like the idea of tipping but I would not withhold a tip to get my point across because that ends up hurting those that actually need the tip. Surely you can get your point across in a less drastic way, yes?

Way to justify being cheap, troll. Customers not tipping is not going to make owners pay a fair wage. Laws do that. You not tipping just means that the workers get shafted.

Are you actively advocating for laws mandating the elimination of the tipped minimum wage?

I presume that you are either not a regular anywhere or you enjoy the taste of floor and spit

Do what you want, but having been a server in restaurants all through college, we didn't even make minimum wage. If you want to take up the cause to eliminate tipping, personally I'd find another way to do it rather than denying tips to people who rely on the income (especially during covid).

That’s an excuse and you know it.

Realize that waitstaff make $2.13 an hour if you don’t tip. Unless your Mackenzie Bezos, your move is just shortchanging poor people everywhere.

I’m gonna guess you’ve never waited tables either. Try it. I bet you wouldn’t last a week.

I only tip if they make a "tipped wage"

I do tip, but I think tipping is out of control. I say this as someone who has worked service jobs that rely on it, as a server and bartender.

I particularly feel its absurd to base the tip on the amount of spending (although I always did). It's actually easier working at an expensive restaurant than a cheaper one, but you make tons more. THere's no logic to it. Probably the same for hair salons--does anyone assume a $100 haircut with a $20-$25 tip means more work than a $50 one? Takes the same amount of time.

So you don't tip food delivery? Because they make minimum wage, which is not a "tipped wage".

Having been a server in restaurants all through college, I have a hard time believing you. I agree that there are much better ways to make your point than taking tips away from servers, but where were you waiting on tables that you didn't make minimum wage?

CHEAPSKATE!

Change in policy is not made by stepping on the backs of the people who have no power. I've never been a server but I can see how hard they work and having a good one definitely enhances a dining experience.

So your plan is to make servers as poor as possible in the hopes that...what? That will cause laws to change? When has the suffering of poor people made that happen in recent history?
