I don't tip and I'm proud of it

Not until the next time you come to the restaurant. Have you noticed if they take a picture of you with their cell phones before you drive away?

Congratulations on being a shitty and truly stupid person, OP.

Having been a server in restaurants all through college, I have a hard time believing you. I agree that there are much better ways to make your point than taking tips away from servers, but where were you waiting on tables that you didn't make minimum wage?

Not PP, but 2 bard in Adams Morgan and a restaurant under the bridge in DC. I made $15 in tips for lunch and $2.13 for an hour working a 5 hour shift in GT.
You calculate if minimum was reached. One bar in Adams Morgan didn't pay me in 2002, 2003. I think the excuse was that it all was going towards tips anyway. My SS statement shows $0 for the 2 years. I had no idea how to do taxes without w-2. The 2nd bar paid me cash every few months once the $2 and hour they owed me stared to pile up to $1000.
I forgot, my very first job on Columbia Road never wrote me a check. They also didn't give me most of the credit cards tips. Some days I walked out of there with $20-$35 for 6 hour shift. I had been homeless before, so I didn't know any better. I was so happy to make enough money to get food the next day. Strangely, this place didn't even feed me.
I ended my career in hospitality business after ca 20 year in it, but it is horrific how people are being treated there. Nobody makes sure that the minimum has been met. I remember 2 American girls complaining about not getting their 20 minute break every 4 hours and they got fired. There are many, many foreigners who are employed in restaurant business and who cannot afford to get fired.
One of our bosses screamed and yelled every single night after drinking ca 30 beers. Can you imagine your boss drunk every night and what comes out of his mouth?
OP, I think you are the person who used to come to my last place and asked what you could get for free. Then you and your friend proceeded to spend ca $14 on most visits and split the bill by 2 credit cards (one card gets $2.30). Remember your last visit and why you never came back? It was funny as hell. We are still laughing about it. Hope you are doing well.

I tip cab drivers, hairstylists and at restaurants of course.

But not the tip jar at the counter when I pick up food or coffee.

I would be so embarrassed to go out to a meal with you.

I don not think any business can get away not paying at least min wage . In DC they required to file tip report with DC government . I don’t know about other states.

Omg I just started doing this a couple years ago and it’s so liberating!! I only tip at a sit down restaurant. Last week I drove to Cheesecake Factory for pick up and didn’t tip anything. Did it again at another restaurant. I’ve never tipped anyone on Uber eats or instacart. Everyone else on here blabs about how much they tip like it’s some badge. Perfect!! You can subsidize my zero tips!! I tip at a sit down restaurant 20% and my hair/nail salon but thats it.

Pp again- I live in LA where servers get $25/hr plus tips. I’m not tipping on that unless it’s a sit down meal. Put away your cups because I’m not dropping you any coins.

*I meant $15!

Super cheap POS. Even your tips when you tip suck, especially given your skinflint nature o/wise. Eeeuuuuw.

I do tip but was called cheap when I tipped 20% of the sub-total (before tax) instead of the total. I used to wait tables too and considered that a great tip (15% was the norm in the time and place I was working). This person tried to shame me in front of a whole group of people.
