Did your kids remain in the 99th percentile or did they drop off over time? My DS is 99th percentile weight (29lbs) and 99th percentile height (33”) at one years old. He is by far the biggest 1 year old I have ever seen. I just wonder if this will stay the course or he will slowly drop off the highest percentile. DH is 5’10” and I am 5’7” but we have tall family members.
DS is 8 and has been consistently either 99% or just off the charts since he was about a month old. I'm 5'4 and DH is 5'10 and we don't have any super tall family members in our families (that we know of at least) so I have no idea where he gets it from.
My son was at 99 and then actually off the chart at some point as a baby and toddler. I think he’s at about 75% now as a preteen. The growth charts are all wonky at puberty because kids grow at different speeds.
Mine is down to about 85th%. He’s still massive though.
My daughter stayed at 99th percentile for a while and then started dropping. At age 4, she’s about 65th percentile.
My DS has always been in the 97-99% percentiles for height and weight. He’s now 8 and has dropped to the high 80s, but is still among the taller kids in his class (although it’s hard to gauge because the kids all hit growth spurts at slightly different times). DH and I are average height but both of us have brothers who are between 6’ - 6’3”.
Mine are 9 & 6 and have been 99% for height consistently since birth. I’m average height 5’5 but DH is 6’5
My kids quickly dropped from 99th to around 40th in height and weight, but then took hold of the 99th in standardized testing. Works for me!
Mine is 12 and has been at 99 his whole life.

DD has been 99% for height till 13 yr which she hate, now at 15 she is about 90%
|
Oh I can’t wait to hear. My 20 mo old DS is 29 lbs and 36” tall. A giant! His big sister was 99th up until she was 2 or 3, then dropped to the low 90s and stands out as tall for her age. My DH and I expect they will both pass us in height (I am 5’8” and DH is 6ft). We have height on both sides (6’4”+ men and my aunt is almost 6 ft). I’m guessing DD hits 5’9 or 10 and DS clears 6’ 2”
How big was your DS at 1? I am OP. I can’t believe how big my DS is. His growth seems exponentially faster than his sisters. |

My kids are 99% for height, but not for weight.
My 25-month-old was a little over 37" when she was measured on her second birthday, and my 13-month-old is 33." We will have to see if their growth continues at this rate, but I'm guessing it will. Their dad is 6' 5," I am 5' 9," and every one of their aunts and uncles are over 6 feet tall. I'm the short one in the family. |
My 99th%er is still the tallest (and youngest) kid in her class at 10. I fear she will be taller than me (5’9”.)
I have two older ones and IMO if they stay around that height until 5 years old, they'll stay tall.
