99th percentile kids

Anonymous
My DS was 90th percentile for height and 75th for weight when he was a toddler. Now, at 14.5, he's 60th percentile for height and 50th percentile for weight. He's 2.5 years behind the average in puberty. No one knows where he will end up but puberty can throw a wrench in things.

My son was 95th percentile height/weight as a baby but settled down to about average by 3-4 yrs old and stayed there throughout childhood. We thought he'd stay there but hit a growth spurt late in HS and is now 20 years old and 6'2" and slim.

My daughter was 95%ile+ in height and 80th%ile in weight all through childhood. The charts suggested she'd get to 5'8" in height but she got her period early and topped out at 5'6" (same as me). She loved being tall and wishes she'd been able to keep growing.

My son was also like 90th percentile for weight as a baby. He’s maybe 40th to 50th now at age 5. Once they start moving a lot as toddlers they start to slim out. The chub pretty much disappeared entirely between 3-4.

Your kids must be young.....

Because parents of teens would never be this smug.

He may be big for his age, but 45 pounds is not heavy for 45 inches. My 5yo is about 42/43 inches and 40 pounds and looks quite thin.

Similar.

My DD was 99th then way over for a while. She started dropping at about 10 or 11 yo. She's 15 and 5'8", but hasn't started her period, so maybe she gets to 5'9"? I'm 5'2" and DH is 5'10" but we have tall people on both sides. She's always been very a slim, like 15th percentile. Even now she's only 92 lbs. My younger one is tiny, like me - short and skinny - 15th percentle height; 2nd percentile weight.

My sister's kid is in the 99th percentile of her weight and 20th for height, so at least yours is a bit more proportionate.... My kids have always stayed pretty proportionate to their weight and height percentages

My girls were huge between 95 and 99 percentile until 2-3. Then they started dropping and are now 60-65% at 10 and 8. I am 5’3” and husband is 6’2” with very tall (6’) sisters. I am glad to be honest. Son has always been around 90%, but not dropping yet at 5.

DS and DD were hefty as babies into toddlerhood, but they both slimmed down dramatically in elementary ages. Now they are tweens/teens and ds is tall, like he was as a baby, and dd is average height, like she was as a baby. So their height tracked, but weight did not.

I mean it is what it is. My FIL is 6'7", I'm 5'11". I can't bind his limbs.
