If you lost a significant amount of weight fairly easily, what did you do?

So if you lost 20+ pounds without it being too painful, how did you go about it?

Keto- lost 35 lbs in three months. I'm menopausal too. You have to slowly reintroduce carbs though.

Do you mind sharing a few of the meals that you would eat?

I cut out flour and sugar (for the most part) and quit eating between meals. The key for me was eating enough at mealtimes that I wasn’t hungry later. I learned to read where that satiety point was.
I lost about 30 lbs over a few months. This was two years ago, and I have kept it off fairly easily.

Example meals:
Breakfast: oatmeal, 2eggs with cheese, apple, coffee
Lunch: salad with walnuts, blue cheese, and leftover steak
Dinner: chicken, roasted potatoes, broccoli

The bolded worked for me. I lost 18 pounds in 4 months by making only this change and focusing on walking a lot more. I wasn't rigid about the flour and sugar, just stayed away from bread and pasta as well as desserts. That is it. (Of course, I won't discount that I was generally more attuned to what I was eating and therefore certainly consumed less calories overall, but I wasn't tracking.)

Dh cut out snacking , started making his lunch (either salad with grilled chicken or a lean cuisine type meal) and ordered healthier options when we did take out. Lost weight very easily.

IF. Painless but took a year. Down 30 pounds and going, doubt I’ll ever go back to eating “normally” but I don’t miss it really.

I did the 21 day fix but I couldn’t keep it off.

Men lose weight so easily. My DH cut out a few beers a night and dessert after dinner and lost 20 pounds in a month.

Stopped drinking. Did keto. So much bacon involved in my weight loss. But I also love salad.

I counted calories, but did not restrict times to eat or categories of food. The key for me was finding high protein meals that I enjoy and basing my meals around those foods.

Keto, which led to accidental IF. Down 43 pounds.

Scrambled eggs with bacon, sausage, taco salads, chicken caesar salad, cheeseburgers w/chaffles, grilled steak (sirloin or ribeye). Most of my meals were some kind of grilled meat (chicken, pork chop, steak, hamburger, fish) with a veg side (green beans, salad, spinach, mushrooms, cauliflower, broccoli). I also made keto casseroles, cabbage or zucchini "pasta" and mousse style desserts w/berries. I made keto bread, chaffles and rolls too when I felt like eating a sandwich.

I loved it because I wasn't hungry, like I was just counting calories, or eating a bunch of carbs. IF is great too. It pairs nicely with keto and the weight will melt off.

I did keto previously and yes, it is very effective but I gained it all back and then some when I went back to eating “normally.” It is truly a challenge to make it a long-term lifestyle.

I find loosely tracking calories and focusing on cutting out refined sugar and most white flour to be effective. I now focus on proteins, veggies, and fats like full fat Greek yogurt, avocado, etc. while still eating black beans, chickpea pasta, some rice if I want it, corn tortillas. It’s slower but more sustainable.

Honestly, I think getting more sleep (at the start of the pandemic) kick started some weight loss.
