Pete Snyder is running for VA governor. His platform is opening schools. He’s a republican but not a wacko. He has my vote!!!!!!

Schools will be open in the fall. So, this will not determine my vote. |
Not 5 days a week. I will absolutely vote for him if the Dems are quite on RTS! |
| Former Fox News contributor = instant disqualifier. Also, his plan is to get together with parent groups to recall school board members who kept schools closed? How will that make a difference THIS fall when the election is on Nov 2? |
+1 |
| Thank you - I am going to be a single issue voter on this point in November. I'll be keeping an eye on all of the candidates but thanks for flagging this one. So far I've asked McAuliffe what he will do open schools & I haven't heard back yet. |
Sounds like a stupid reason to vote for someone as gov. |
It's the single most important issue affecting me now & possibly ever. We are dual working parent household with 3 ES aged kids. I am not the OP - and you can vote however you want - but this is how I am voting in this election. |
| No one is stupid enough to vote at the state level on a single issue of open schools. How ridiculous. |
+1 Total DB. “We had a bill to cap tuition at $2,500 per semester until college students got face to face learning again.” He wants to cap tuition? WTH? It costs more to open colleges. Kinda self-defeating. “Today we #MarchForLife to not only celebrate life, but to serve as a reminder that all life is sacred— especially the unborn. “ “ If there was ever a poster child for why our 2nd Amendment right is sacred, it was the lawlessness of 2020. I won’t allow radical liberals to strip us of our inalienable rights. When you give up even an inch, they take a mile.” Typical GOP trash. |
Me too. I never thought I'd be a single issue voter, but here we are. Thanks for this OP. If someone runs on this platform alone - opening schools across the board - s/he will have my vote, regardless of party affiliation. |
I beg to differ. You obviously don't have school-age kids. |
I have 3 but I know that running a state involves many issues and that my concerns about school belong at the local level. |
Talk about staking out a safe position. No Republicans ever. They are bad for society. |
So we go back to school in the fall, and everybody has selected a governor that will just spend the next 4 years stripping funds away from other initiatives that require attention. You guys will get one thing but you'll lose 25 other items. If that makes sense to you. |
