You guys realize that you won’t get a chance to vote for this guy, right? Virginia isn’t having an R primary; it’ll be decided by a convention.

He CAN'T open schools full time. He's just saying he wants to--an extremely popular position that he knows will get people to vote for him, even though it requires no actual work on his part as a candidate. Please think harder about what kind of governor he would actually be if elected.

I said I want to hear from all of them what they’ll do. I’m not automatically voting for this guy but this is my # issue to consider for the upcoming election. I would prefer a D gets it done but I am not against voting R if I have to.

HE is not a one issue candidate but they are one issue voters. Which is so blind of them that they'll deserve what they get, if they help elect him, and suddenly find he's just as focused on destroying abortion rights and ensuring guns are everywhere as he is focused on school reopenings.

Oh, yeah, they also are people who refuse to believe that their precious kids could spread an increasingly contagious virus to them (the parents), grandparents, etc. etc. I suspect a lot of these posters insist that "kids don't get sick, or dont' get very sick, from Covid" and that's all they focus on.

Yes, plus the GOP is just a bunch of corrupt liars so who knows what they'd really do. Just obstruct and oppress. They are toxic to the US.

Kids are going back way before this election so it's moot anyway.

i suspect by this fall the most at risk people will get vaccinated and large chunks of the general population will have gotten the jab. maybe not at the point where 'anyone who wants it will get it.' this will likely be a non-issue.

then again, teachers and police unions are two sides of the same coin. so who knows, they may find some excuse to stay home. to be fair, there are large chunks of students who may be better served by a virtual school as opposed to heading to school.

If you're a single issue voter and its solely based on school reopening and the VA GOP nominates Amanda Chase, will you vote for her?

Think about that, you are about to give her 4 years in Richmond and your ONLY issue is a short term one that'll likely be remedied in August.

by the time the election occurs (unless you're driving to Lynchburg for the convention) we will know whether or not it's an issue this fall. If the schools are still closed, I'll vote for anyone running on an open campaign
