Has anyone managed to actually lose weight just starting a diet of moderation and eating right?

Has anyone managed to lose weight just by starting to eat only healthy foods and stop eating sweets, sugar, white flour, etc?
I am 132 lbs which has crept up. Need to get back down to about 125. I am looking into diets and they all seem overwhelming, especially for longer than a few days. Keto seems extremely difficult and no interest in Whole 30 or Atkins.

Kind of. I just just cut out anything with added sugar and stopped drinking any calories (so only drinking water and black coffee no sugar, except a glass of wine or two on the weekend). I lost about 20 lbs I think.

But I also started to do some exercise at the same time, running a few times a week and biking to work most days.

This is what I always do whenever I need to lose a few. I’m 5’6” and have never worked out. When I get to 128 I eat more protein and cut back on cookies and candy.

Yes but also cutting snacks/quasi IF. Not whole fasting days or anything wild. Just putting an end to grazing.

Ok I’m wondering if that’s a decent option for me. I’m 5’4 and only need to drop maybe 10 tops. Goal weight is 122.

Eat until 80% full. Stop frequently, get in touch with your stomach, the second you feel “full” drop it! Walk away. You’ll slice a little off everywhere easily.

Yes, I just watch the scale and when I hit 5-6 over normal I simply cut out all snacks and treats, focus on whole foods and get back to normal in a month or two

Kind off. What works for me is not to set a super strict diet of “can’t eat such and such” but creating healthy habits.
So for example, breakfast 6 days a week or so is two hard boiled eggs. I can make it ahead, eat it at home or at work, and it fills me up until lunch and i dont get carb cravings.
Back in the before times, when i was at the office 4-5 days/week, i created a habit where lunch was always some kind of kale salad. I could make a big batch for the week. I am the kind of person who actually is totally happy eating essentially the same thing for 2/3 meals most days - and it removed most of the guilt around anything else that i ate.
Now, the drawback is that this was highly dependent on a certain lifetsyle that i don’t think i will ever get back (being in the office most days). I need to find a way to get back to the boring regimen while working 10 steps from my pantry.

Yes. Paradoxically it was thanks to intuitive eating.

Sort of. I think it works better for men and women under 40 or 45. After a certain age it’s really hard for most women to lose weight.
