Marylanders where is your wine

Anonymous
Visiting from central VA to care for a family member. Stopped at a Safeway before going to my hotel to grab a quick dinner and some wine to relax. And apparently that’s a no go. Help a girl out for tonight. Where do you hide the wine here in Maryland?

Yeah, that's the weird thing. One thing the general assembly can't seem to do is get a bill passed so supermarkets can sell it, like every other freakin state.

At the beer & wine stores. Usually one outside of/next to every supermarket.

Yeah it’s insane.

Yes MD doesn't sell wine in grocery stores/Target etc. Only specialty stores (but they are everywhere; hard liquor harder to find)

False. Lived in MD for 5 years (close in suburbs) and beer/wine stores are much harder to find than supermarkets.

You can find wine and beer (not liquor tho) at specialty bottle shops, which are often easier to find than the state-run stores.

I live in IL now and we can buy liquor at CVS and it is a revelation.

Moms Market has groceries and wine. You chose to shop at the wrong store.

Like I said I’m visiting from out of state. Stopped at a grocery store next to my hotel. You’re kind of rude

I've gone to Rodman's and World Market.

Just one store per county or some rule like that.

Safeway in Olney = beer and wine

Shoppers in Germantown = beer and wine

Much harder to find? Maybe for you. Every grocery store near me in MoCo has a beer/wine store nearby.

Where are you staying specifically. We can't help if you don't narrow it down a bit.

NP.. I'm originally from CA, and when we first got here, it was a shocker that we could not buy wine at the grocery stores. In CA, we bought wine at TJ, Costco, etc...

Anyways, I do agree that there are alcohol stores dotted all around us, up and down the pike. But, I'm in MoCo. Maybe where OP is it's diferent. Maybe booze stores aren't everywhere like they are here in MoCo.

Where are you OP?
