SATC New Season - And Just Like That...

Maybe my expectations were low, but I actually enjoyed it. They definitely surpassed the 2 movies (a low bar, I know) and possibly the tail end of Season 6. Kim Cattrall would have been a nice addition, but I wouldn’t say I missed Samantha’s character. I surprisingly found myself liking the new characters, especially Miranda’s professor. I’ll definitely be tuning in for the remaining episodes. Til next week

Aside from all the issues this reboot is having, it's seriously lacking without Samantha and how can you have a series (and two movies) centered around 4 friends and reboot it without the friendships intact? It's like Friends without Rachel or Seinfeld without Jerry. Get the band back together or leave it alone.

Because this is just a cash grab. The three could not care less if KC isn't there because it gives them more screen time and a bigger cut of the loot.

SJP and Nixon are not idiots: They know from history that sequels almost always flop,
from Archie Bunker to Cosby to Golden Girls. What did they think would happen? This is why I respect Bea Arthur. She had the good sense to walk after seven seasons of Golden Girls and go out top. The others did not and ended up in the hideous Golden Palace, which failed in part because an integral cast member was gone. Same here.

Miranda's professor is like a caricature.

So to put this on old school SAT terms, Sex and the City : Golden Girls as:

A. Samantha on SATC : Dorothy on Golden Girls
B. And Just Like That : Golden Palace
C. And Just Like That : Human Centipede III
D. All of the above.

How so? I think Karen Pittman is wonderful in the role, as always.

Really? A show with characters like Charlotte, Stanford, Anthony, and now Sara Ramirez’s new character and you think the professor is the caricature?

Has it ever been revealed where Mr Big went to college?

Where did the 4 women go to college? I believe Charlotte went to ... Wellesley?

Ha! I have a great aunt Charlotte who went to Wellesley but I don’t think SATC Charlotte did because I think she mentioned that she was in a sorority. It was in the episode where Charlotte is too slutty for her old friends and Samantha has a friend that’s too slutty for even her.

Charlotte went to Smith; Samantha went to Studio 54. Miranda went to Harvard Law. Carrie went to....um...Brown?

As cliche as the show’s writing is, I’m guessing Wharton or Dartmouth.
