| GZ already beat up on IAC’s best |
| Where are the Prep dads?? |
|
Gonzaga sure doesn’t look like it improved much this season, squeaking out a 2 goal victory over SJC in the final.
I don’t think Gonzaga beats Bullis or GP if they play a 2nd time around. |
| Guess we'll never know. But they sure beat Prep and Bullis the first time, the only time, they played. That's what counts. Keep dreaming if you think otherwise! The better team won both times. |
| Agreed. League titles are the most important thing. Can't keep having the best teams play each other late in the school year and diminish league titles. The IAC, WCAC and MIAA schools play each other earlier in the season to get a barometer of performance. IAC schools had their chances this yr vs GZ. While GZ didn't blow people away, it won every local game and its only losses where to excellent nationally ranked teams. |
| GZ schedules people early and does what they have to do. Don't get crazy. |
Not a detractor, but on another note - Bullis has a dominant boys (and girls) track team. National caliber guys in the sprints. But at least 4 guys transferred into Bullis in high school and 3 were established stars elsewhere. Those guys are a pleasure to watch, and I wish them all the best, but something about the whole situation seems a bit odd. |
Most private school folks at the other area schools think lots of things about Bullis are a bit odd. |
|
Bringing in second semester senior transfers is one of them.
Offering a parent a teaching job at the school because her son is a star lacrosse player is another one. |
|
It hurts doesn't it. Hurts baaaaddd.
Make your lil excuses. Can tell the type of athlete you were. Got "hurt" a lot.. |
| Bullis also offered a teaching job to their current head coach a few years ago and he had a son that was a high school and college All-American. |
| bullis is best team in dmv...fact |
| Bullis is one of best in US - which means the world. Question their methods, but really can’t argue with the result. |
In this little, IAC world, HOW things are done does matter. Based on decades of history, Bullis has never been seen as being quite up to snuff with the IAC schools on this side of the Potomac. The people that have sent their kids to Landon, STA, Prep and Sidwell (when it was an IAC member) never considered Bullis as an alternative. They look at the current Bullis success and pay attention to how it is being done. The conclusion is, once again, Bullis is in the IAC, but as sort of a provisional member needed for scheduling purposes mostly. |
It woful be interesting if Bullis dropped out of IAC and just went full independent, who they would still schedule. My guess is Landon, Prep and SSSA. Drop the others and add in 2 more MIAA games (this year they played 3 MIAA schools). Don't know if kids would care or not, as high level club players are used to traveling and playing all over the place. I'm not thinking impact on other sports as this is a lacrosse thread. Would make IAC a 5 team league; with 2 of the schools being a couple of notches below the others ie pretty weak. Don't see it happening for a few years and only if they keep winning or getting to Final every year, which most likely won't happen. Of course, the Prep?Landon contingent won't be able to handle too much more Bullis success, so they may push fo it sooner as well....destroys their narrative. |
