Do they an interest in advancing all black people in VA or just one black person?

neither - their interest is advancing all Black Democrats in VA, and all non-Black Democrats.

Based on what exactly?

Democrats aren’t vindictive a-holes. You must be thinking of Trump.

Didn’t see that comment coming, have no idea who you are talking about, but this made me smile nonetheless, so you win the internet today! Lol.

And while I would like to hear some good reasons not to vote for Sears, all the extreme Democrats who say everyone must vote Dem or they have lost their minds are crazy. Trump is not taking away anyone's right to vote. Both the Dems and Republicans are to blame for the government shutdown, the Fed was too big and filled with ineptitude (that was well know talk around DC) that you could joke about a bad employee never being fired but just re-assigned. Give me logical, rational reasons and I will listen.

Have you been paying attention at all?? if you have kids in HS you need to wake up. Trump is setting this country up to help the super wealthy and that’s it. I have no optimism for the future job market due to AI and all the company consolidation that is being allowed. Unemployment is going up. Housing costs and food costs, healthcare costs. All expensive and the current administration could care less. Very very worried for my children and all these hysterics about bathrooms in HS are so the least of our problems.

+1

This is why Dems keep losing elections. Fringe groups persuade them to focus on the wrong issues.

Democrats are focused on protecting health insurance, healthcare for women, voting rights, social safety nets like SNAP, etc.

Are those really "fringe"?

Dems need to focus on job creation and economic development. Instead, they focus on government dependency issues.

Hasn’t that always been the case though? Dems think government is here to solve people’s problems and should be deeply involved in people’s lives.

Pretty sure it’s the Republicans using government to fill the streets with stormtroopers, restrict speech on TV, remove reproductive health freedom, impose tariffs, start multiple foreign wars, maliciously prosecute political opponents, and fantasize about violating the Constitution with a third presidential term.

But God forbid Dems want better healthcare and assault weapon restrictions.

If that’s what Dems want, why isn’t that message reaching voters?

I do know the Dems have that message, but whenever I’ve recently checked on something locally it’s: We had to raise your taxes. There was no other way. Oh and we had to raise that other tax as well. Actually we had to raise the cost for various services, too. It’s necessary so we can cover these costs for all those not paying. We wanted to fulfill our promises of x and y, but we had to spend several millions on pet project A and B that supposedly only affect a very small group of people, so we have to scratch x and y, although that will affect everyone.

I’m worried about this, too, just like you. However, the Democrats are not helping with their policies to which they still hold on to; intentionally eliminating merit on all fronts and instead only rewarding a perceived disadvantaged background. Opening the country, schools, and colleges to limitless influx, and enrollment of foreigners (they didn’t start this, but they will double down on it), and it’s now come to a tipping point that will be put into overdrive with the AI revolution and the elimination of jobs in the millions…. the elimination of so many jobs across all fields and income levels, with even more competition for what remains.

seriously, you’re going to talk about how school boards address merit given the crisis our country is going through right now? There was job growth under Biden despite the uphill battle of inflation. The economy was headed in the right direction. The Secretary of Education often talked about how trade schools are just as important as universities. Not every high school student is destined to go to college. They address climate change and common sense gun legislation. More companies move their headquarters to blue states with the policies are more business friendly. I see all of this is positives for my kids who are in high school in middle school and will be entering the job market in a few years.

I don’t even see how you can criticize Democrats knowing that the Republicans are intentionally running the economy into the ground for anyone who’s not wealthy. This is a very scary time.

School policy and immigration are the very least of our worries now thanks to the Rs!!

Spanberger is the only candidate on the ballot that doesn’t completely repulse me — though the casino thing makes me want to vomit. (Why, Spanberger????!) I do not trust her but at least she has a modicum of bipartisanship.

I support stopping Trump / MAGA. Once that is done, then burning down Democratic Party is the next step. My concern is that if we manage to get rid of MAGA, people won’t finish the job and kick the Democrats to the curb after them. Too many politicians fixated on their own power and people without looking out for the whole. They profit by keeping us divided.

This person gets it. Idk if you’re an insider or not (eg staffer, lobbyist, or someone who otherwise understands it’s all a game to these officials) but you get it. So refreshing to see.
