Dems need to focus on job creation and economic development. Instead, they focus on government dependency issues. |
And this is why Dems keep on losing. You are giving sane and rational Dems a bad name. Telling people if they vote for Sears that they shouldn’t even be walking around. What?! What sane person says that? |
What? That is all I have heard from D’s. They promote job creation, common sense gun legislation, address climate change, healthcare, rising costs of housing. what are the Rs doing to help the non wealthy in our country? |
Hasn’t that always been the case though? Dems think government is here to solve people’s problems and should be deeply involved in people’s lives. |
It’s gotten worse over the last 25-30 years. |
You cannot be serious. The Republicans want to tell us what we can say, who we can marry, control our healthcare decisions, and decide how we worship. |
Pretty sure it’s the Republicans using government to fill the streets with stormtroopers, restrict speech on TV, remove reproductive health freedom, impose tariffs, start multiple foreign wars, maliciously prosecute political opponents, and fantasize about violating the Constitution with a third presidential term. But God forbid Dems want better healthcare and assault weapon restrictions. |
If that’s what Dems want, why isn’t that message reaching voters? https://www.politico.com/news/2025/11/02/working-class-voters-think-dems-are-woke-and-weak-new-research-finds-00632618 |
PP here, here’s a scathing excerpt: “American Bridge’s project focused exclusively on working-class voters, shedding light on a once-core constituency for Democrats that’s drifted away from the party over the last decade. And the initial feedback is grim: Working-class voters don’t see Democrats as strong or patriotic, while Republicans represent safety and strength for them. These voters “can’t name what Democrats stand for, other than being against [Donald] Trump,” according to the report.” |
I think many Americans very understandably don’t follow politics closely enough to form their own educated opinions. They’re busy living their lives and ignoring politics. (Something I really wish I had the luxury of doing these days - I want a time when trust that things are running smoothly and I can focus on my own life.) Instead, their opinions are formed by media which has largely been purchased by the right and therefore overwhelmingly been slanted to the right. Or they get their info from social media or podcasts which the right has dominated. Finally, they feel aggrieved because of their difficulties and appreciate the grievance fests that the right eggs on with the podcasts and social media, which makes them feel heard and less alone. |
Because the Republicans are much more talented at propaganda and are unafraid to openly lie. |
I’d love to know how those voters get their news. If you’re listening to talk radio, watching Fox, and scrolling X, of course you’ll see nonstop hatred for anything but the right kind of Republican. |
I am around a lot of working class people. They listen to iHeart radio stations and watch Fox. Younger ones are listening to Rogan. Dems need to get better at messaging, but these voters are stuck in a media echo chamber that is radicalizing them. |
