The math problems aren't the problem with the math SAT. The math SAT is problematic because it reflects all of the experiences that lead up to that point.

The "math" experience is racist/sexist/classist.

I posted that, and it wasn't sarcasm. That is the argument that gets made over culturally biased questions. I was too lazy to put up the example from Diff'rent Strokes about how many people can sleep in a house, that involved black people know people sleep on the floor and in the bathtub.

I had never heard that one before. If that is really the argument pro-affirmative action groups are making, then I think we need to get rid of aa because it's feeding into those stereotypes.

I have no problem having my tax dollars pay for more tutoring and services to lower income families. My family was once lower income. But, I do have a problem with racial quota.

Native Americans don’t even get a column. So understanding the numbers and what they mean is very limited without knowing how many students are in each category. And of course the racial categories cross with other categories such as sports and legacies. So one reason the admission stats might be so high for the African American and Hispanic students could be because they are relatively very small numbers. ( As in 56 % of 10 students vs 13 % of 100 students will yield 5 students vs 13 ).

NP. Or it could be fewer black students even apply and the ones who do are actually qualified.
