People who are saying that the SAT is racist are being ridiculous, and using the ^^ as an example of how ridiculous that assertion is. How can a math problem be racist? And if someone brings up the stupid "regata" example, I'll just remind that person that a lot of Asian Americans and white people also wouldn't know what that is. I sure didn't when I took the SAT in the 80s.[/quote] The math problems aren't the problem with the math SAT. The math SAT is problematic because it reflects all of the experiences that lead up to that point. The "math" experience is racist/sexist/classist. [/quote]
