WTH? And we all disagree with all the people that post that about black Americans. We know that police brutality is racially based in most bases in the USA. There is no denying that it is wrong to kick a man who is down, regardless of his skin color. You are right, we do have nasty racist pps here, who are abhorrent POSs! But, if you are saying that our police is wrong for their brutality towards AA then you are a hypocrite if you think this is ok. |

BLM protesters were arrested. Multiple members of Congress have been arrested for protesting voting bills in the past couple years. It doesn’t make the governments arresting them fascist or the leaders of those governments tyrants. The Montgomery bus boycotts were an economic weapon just as the truck convoy is. And the protestors in Montgomery probably were called traitors and terrorists too. Back then the cops used German Shepards whereas today it is horses in Ottawa. Sadly. The buses did not stop running in Montgomery. They were available for people to use. The videos posted here are so mild. Do you think those police should just sit there and say "pretty please" when people are failing to obey the law? Honestly, I would prefer to have Canadian police here. I saw no tasers being pulled. |

Yes, it was terrorism. They were trying to shut down the Canadian capital in exchange for the resignation of Trudeau, and the installation of their preferred government. The Facebook groups starting the convoy were created and spread by both domestic and foreign actors who are continuing their war on democracy. "Protests" like this and January 6 are being amplified by people who want to show that democracy is failing. The true believer truckers are just pawns. |

Both of these descriptions are on the extreme edges. Protest in itself is not illegal or necessarily "terrorism". However, most peaceful protests, at least here in DC, require a permit and a plan so that there are enough portable toilets, etc. and so that the crowd does not block streets. That makes sense. This "convoy" type of protest was not "peaceful". By all accounts the truckers in Ottawa were blasting their horns and blasting music and blocking streets. Not "peaceful". Blocking an important transportation link is not "peaceful". Those are considered acts of war between countries for many people and a judge was right to ask police to remove the truckers. They have a right to protest, but not to block others from going about their business. |
