Lied about age

If you found out someone you met from a dating app, and have been seeing for 3 months lied about their age, would it be a dealbreaker? Other than this, everything else has gone really well.

Yes. Either that or I would tell him I lied too and tell him I'm 7 years older than I am, then see the reaction.

Yes I would. There's a serious character flaw there. Same if they lied about height, weight, relationship status, whether they had kids, used someone else's picture, etc. All you have to go on when deciding to meet this person is what they told you on the app, and now you know they lied to every single person who was trying to make that choice.

Integrity matters.

I found out 6 months in a dating my partner but he lied about his age. He told me he was 40 and he was almost 42.

How big of a lie? Did they shave off a year or two, or five or more? Why did they lie?

No.... I did start dating other people and blew him off. When I asked him about it he said he really didn't pay attention to his age. Lol! Somehow we are still together a decade later.

Deal-breaker. I once stayed with a man who had lied about his age, and he ended up lying about a lot more serious things.

How much? I once went on an internet date with someone who had shaved 10+ years off his age. He had a lot of other issues as well ...

I think sometimes people do this specifically in the context of dating apps because of a perception that people unfairly do age or height cutoffs. My DH added an inch to his height for this reason (from 5-7 to 5-8). He's not perfect, but he's definitely not a liar.

I went to hook up with a guy that was already a lot older than me He said he was 50 and he had to be in his 60s. For some reason I stuck around and it was bad... I ended up leaving and never going back.

Current BF told me he was 39 instead of 40. He said 40 seems to be a hump a lot of 30’s women don’t want to cross. I get it - women joke (“”) about being 29 all the time.
