Why do husbands never leave for the affair partner?

I’m genuinely curious about this, read this thread a lot. Seems like there are decent number of husbands who have affairs, sometimes even years in length. But they rarely leave the wife, the couple either reconciles or the wife files for divorce. In my actual life, I only know of three instances when a husband divorced and married the affair partner.

I actually don’t think he left MacKenzie- they filed for divorce jointly. She probably got rid of him when it was clear the texts were coming out.

I’m not a fan of the saying but it has proven true from what I’ve seen- there are girls you marry and girls you f***. I also don’t think the point of an affair is to fall in love and marry. It’s about sex

Why go to the trouble? Especially if you have kids? People who are up for an affair generally aren’t looking for love.

Perhaps you could expand your observation to cheating husbands don’t leave and cheating wives do ?

Leaving is expensive and most husbands are cheap.

They do quite a bit. Maybe not the majority, but it's definitely not rare.

My experience is that men do not leave until 1) they have someone reliable lined up, and 2) he can afford it. Cheaper to keep her is a real thing for many men.

A lot do. I would say most men that get together with a woman quickly after a separation probably had the AP waiting there. A lot of affairs go on for a very long time.

Most men have affairs in order to STAY in their sexless marriage (because.... kids, house, finances, whatever).
