A Californian politician has zero chance of becoming president in the near future. The VP of a president as unpopular as Trump has zero chance of being elected president. If Newsom and Vance were nominated by their parties, it would be a repeat of the sad 2020 election where two people are running against each other who only have a chance of winning due to the weakness of their opponent.

Newsom and Vance are far smarter, charismatic, and better debaters than Biden, Harris, or Trump.

I have no idea what you’re talking about. Have you ever taken the time to listen to either in a long form interview or are you just basing your opinions on your vibes and what you’ve gleaned from your obsessively biased and partisan cable news and Twitter feed viewing habits?

I know for a fact Vance has no chance of becoming president after being VP of someone as unpopular as Trump. There is more than enough evidence to support this as fact. That equation isn't rocket science; it is political science.

As far as Newsom goes, he may be a witty politician and a decent debater but in the eyes of the majority swing voters in swing states, he will always another sleazy out of touch politician from California with extreme political viewpoints. These swing voters aren't the brightest. They elected bumbling elderly fools in the three most recent POTUS elections.

The only chance Newsom and Vance have of being elected is if their opponent brings equal weakness to this table. In other words, they are each other's opponent.

I think Trump was the worst candidate in the history of the United States.

And yet, Democrats still lost. I'm getting the sense that Republicans could put up a potted plant and they'd still defeat likely Democratic nominees - especially Newsom.

I don't think people in DC realize how much damage the Biden era did for Democrats. People don't trust Democrats, and that's a hard thing to get back.

The fact that Trump won two national elections tells us all we need to know about how dysfunctional the GOP and Dem parties have become.

What is worse? The party who nominates Trump three consecutive times or the party who loses two Trump in two of three POTUS elections?

Time to pull the plug on these two rotten political parties. They are past the point of rehabilitation.

Trump got elected after J6 and was one of most unpopular presidents ever and still beat Harris. If you think Vance wouldn’t appeal more to people in swing counties like Loudoun County, genteel Southerners in swing states like Georgia who are off by Trump’s personality, or working class whites in Wisconsin, PA, or Michigan you are kidding yourself. Vance has the MAGA backing without Trump’s baggage and is a much better politician on top of that. He is MAGA Obama.

This. Vance will get all of Trump’s voters to show up and also has a much greater appeal with college educated voters in the suburbs because of his Ivy League background and respectable demeanor (compared to Trump). He will get all the Trump votes and pull way more college
educated voters than Trump.

Trump couldn’t win VA because of his deficiencies with college educated voters. Vance could.

Lol... tell us you know nothing about politics without telling us. Vance will suffer the same fate as Harris and Pence. Their careers are doomed due to their associations with awful presidents.

People will look at Vance and see Trump just as they looked at Harris and saw Biden. Just as they looked at Mondale and saw Carter. Without the Trump association, perhaps Vance would have the Obama appeal to swing voters. Obama never had the baggage Vance and Harris have.

Carter and Biden didn’t have the die hard fan base that Trump has. They will show up to vote ‘em masse for Vance. Mondale and Harris never had that kind of rabid support

The idiot 30% diehard MAGAs you speak of aren't enough to elect Vance. They voted for Trump in 2020 and what happened? One of the weakest major party nominees in modern history was able to beat Trump due his unpopularity as the sitting POTUS.

Vance could be a Jesus Christ superstar and would still lose in 2028 because of his association to Trump. Same thing applied to Harris one year ago and you've already forgotten.

This seems logically right to me too. But nothing about the past decade has made much sense to me, so I assume the fact that I think it makes sense suggests to me that it must be wrong.
