Early Predictions 2028: AOC, Whitmer, Newsome or …?

Anonymous
Democrats:
Messaging to the base: all the best economic ideas you have. All about returns to normalcy, national parks.
Messaging to swing: we hear you. Literally, we’ve provided Such and such forum for you. Our candidate will gradually address those things
Message to left wing: join us or die. Ok not that dramatic. But people need to get in with these audiences and quietly tell them to shut up for a while. They’ll get their time
Message to right wing: we will beat you because we are listening to the people. We are solid, you are falling apart

Really well. Trump is eliminating the people and ideas I voted against.

White upper-middle class strivers are highly motivated, consciously and unconsciously, to differentiate ourselves from merely middle class white people. We don’t want to be mistaken for rednecks or flyover people or even small business owners. Whether we’re lawyers or lobbyists or baristas with masters degrees, we want to feel like we have more in common with the centimillionaire Clintons than with our own slightly less fancy cousins in flyover states. We obviously can’t prove that with money…

This has been true my whole adult life. Remember that website "Stuff white people like?" There would sometimes be a comparison made to something beloved by "the wrong kind of white people" that was treated as a scarlet letter. Its why the rich suburban moms pretend to love Kendrick Lamar and Bad Bunny but wouldn't be caught dead listening to bluegrass music. Have to set yourself apart from your embarrassing relatives.

This is some deep thinking on white people.

Andy Beshear from Kentucky would be a good compromise.

The embarrassing relatives would be listening to Morgan Wallen, not bluegrass. The cool moms would be listening to bluegrass. The poseur moms would be listening to Kendrick and Bunny

No they won't. And they shouldn't, any more than MAGA should have.

What's their message to former Democrats?

“How’d that work out for you?”

It's a mixed bag.

The cons are numerous and self evident in this administration.

The pros are:
Democrats are coming to their senses about trans ideology and its effects on women's sports.
Democrats are starting to believe that the 14th amendment wasn't just intended to apply to the transition from slavery (see birthright citizenship).
Colleges have reduced their attempts to circumvent SFFA v Harvard.
Democrats have stopped letting the extreme left wing of their party evict moderates from their tent.
Everybody realizes that AOC would be a disaster at the national level.
Democrats have basically given up trying to ban guns because they finally realize that they CANNOT walk and chew gum at the same time.
Democrats have refocused their efforts on the labor class than the donor class.

Trump has done a lot to improve the Democratic party and has made the Republican party toxic. I fully expect the Democrats to say "hold my beer" but for the time being, they are redeeming themselves.

Where is the evidence for the bolded? I don’t see it.

If I were a climate scientist or a trans kid or an illegal immigrant, I would beg the annoying affluent progressives to stop talking about me and putting a target on my back!

I have said for years that no greater calamity can befall a group than for the DC white liberal types to decide to play "ally" to that group. They behave just like parasites: Muscle out the legitimate stakeholders and take over the cause, gain power by pushing the most extreme ideas allegedly "on behalf of" the group, create massive backlash, and then detach to find a new group to parasitize, leaving the previous group at the mercy of an angry populace.

+1000

This is spot on.

I predict California is gonna have a helluva January with two gasoline refineries closing permanently and around 500 gas stations closing permanently.

Have you seen any 18 wheeler trucks that run on batteries?

Let's just see how Gavin handles this!
