When a new coach is coming in, how much does the input of the current coach factor in? Is there a chance that the new coach bumps a kid down based on what they see at tryouts? Or do they weigh the current coach’s assessment more heavily? If a player is a starter who always gets lots of playing time, are they pretty safe bet to stay where they are? Or are there situations where new coach(es) come in and shake things up? |
Dont know where you were hearing DS was not going to be with boys. My take is SA is there as a backup help out. And to stop the complaining of parents. The parents complaining are the ones the boys shouldnt be on team in first place. |
at this age not alot adjustments are made.. rarely a kid or 2 gets demoted.. the next chance is when they jump from 9v9 to 11v11. Unless your kid has a messi tryout or is known outside club its hard to get promoted. |
SA is pretty sure he's top. That's what he's told parents. And NO - the parents complaining are not just the ones with kids who shouldn't be on the top team. My kid is on the team. I've heard the complaing. For years now. Is your kid in the age group? On the top team? Where are you hearing SA is just a backup? |
I heard from a parent this guy is missing practices so he can hold tryouts for his new club. I can’t imagine he would do that. |
He is currently a great falls coach |
keep thinking that.. |
Thanks. I will. The thought of having Dylan another year. 🤢 |
No spring season is crazy. I know a lot of high school kids who are having a spring season. I would be livid if I was a 2009B parent. Are these kids even going to come back after what this debacle? |
Yes. |
This is across the board at all clubs currently. ECNL-R as a league does not have a spring season. Most top kids play HS, and the vast majority are not 8th graders. If your kid is a freshman and didnt make HS, it should beg to question if they really good enough to be on top team. |
Aren’t his u11 boys one of the best teams in the area? Pretty sure they finished 1st in Pre-ECNL |
Its a 2009 team, half the kids will be 8th graders |
OK, so the club knew there would be no spring season. I am sure this was announced to parents prior to them accepting spots innthe team and paying for a year of soccer? Why are they charged the same fees when they aren't getting games or practices? They should have put them in ncsl d1 or edp for the spring season, or scheduled freestanding games against other teams. |
We were never expressly told we would not have any games spring season. A parent with an older soccer player shared that he didn't think there would be. But Coach kept saying he was setting up scrimmages -- message April 1: "I am currently working with Loudoun, VSA, Vienna, McClean and LMVSC on getting scrimmages for the spring sorted. They are like us and have a mix of freshmen and 8th graders, and hopefully this week we have some dates set!" So yeah, even up to 17 days ago this is what we have been told. |
