of course they can't- it didn't happen. These PP think its 'attacking' that APE pushed for kids to be back in school pre-vaccine. That is really what they are calling 'hateful' and 'spiteful' and 'attacking teachers.' They viewed that as an 'attack.' They don't have the self awareness or ability to realize that THEY WERE WRONG. Kids absolutely should have been back in school full time in the fall of 2020. All of the post covid studies bear this out- it would have made little to know difference on infection rates and it would have prevented the absolutely massive long lasting learning loss we are confronting now. But rather then wrestle with that reality- and move forward trying to find a way to remediate the learning loss- they are focused on claiming that APE was 'hateful.' |
Really? Going to play obtuse now? ![]() |
Trying to rewrite history, eh? We were all there and saw exactly what APE did. Their behavior was wrong. Period. The issue today in 2023 is that it looks like we will have a school board member who was comfortable with their behavior. And is very happy to snuggle up with MAGAs/bullies. And appears to be a Youngkin voter, misrepresenting herself to the community. |
Pretty much every one in APE. |
Why? We no longer hold people accountable table? We no longer expect the ACDC to endorse Democrats? |
MT is a Democrat. I think she will be focused exactly on holding APS accountable. That's why I think she will be excellent. |
I don’t trust her to stand up to MAGAs/Youngkin or the bullies/misogynists. She has already demonstrated she’s ok with them. Very ok with them, in fact. |
Have you ever watched a school board meeting? Standing up to MAGAs is very low on list of things we need from a school board member. It just doesn't come up very often. |
Exactly. As an APS parent, one of my biggest concerns right now is retaining teachers, bus drivers, and extended-day staff. The staffing situation is extremely precarious right now! |
That’s what I’m thinking. |
It’s important to protect our schools and kids from Youngkin and the other RWNJs. Guess we will see what happens with the upcoming General Assembly elections. Youngkin voters screwed women for two extra weeks without masks. Hope it was worth it. |
but when it does it's probably one of the most important things a board member can do. |
Exactly |
And how do you think we got here? Take a look at how APE has treated teachers and staff during the entire pandemic. As expendable. |
Uh, then how do you explain the teacher retention crisis across the country when APE only exists in Arlington? Stop looking for a scapegoat. This obsession is unhealthy. |
