Weird food shortages

Anonymous
Have you noticed there are still ongoing food shortages? We make pizza every Friday night and I can’t find Classico Pizza sauce in a store. Yesterday all the sauce options were bare except pesto and one kind that tastes terrible so no one buys it. I finally found some on Amazon, but not sure how long it will take. The taco shell aisle was wiped out too. I don’t get how there are still shortages of some of these foods.

Normally, I wouldn’t care too much but my kid only eats 5 things and piazza is one of them!

Interesting that’s not what I would think as a popular item either. Now, I just read about a pepperoni shortage

Are factories back to their pre-COVID production?

Yeah pasta sauce and canned tomatoes are weird. I went to get diced tomatoes and they were cleaned out.

Many companies/conglomerates have focused on producing their most popular items and temporarily stopped making less popular variants. So it’s likely that it’s something like there’s a run on glass jars or a low tomato crop, so the corporation that owns Classico decided to focus the energy on whatever their best seller is (I don’t know what else they make, but for argument’s sake say is Ragu or Prego regular marinara)
