Supposedly now there is a cloth shortage.

To those missing fresh garlic - Try Dorot frozen garlic. I prefer fresh and never use minced, refrigerated garlic Or powders. I have been really happy with Dorot.

Apparently there's now a pepperoni shortage

Actually, there is. The cloth they use to make them is going for PPE. https://slate.com/business/2020/07/why-its-still-so-tough-to-find-disinfectant-wipes.html

A local fruit orchard staff member told me that they were having a hard time, between the weird weather and the ability to.find fruit pickers at this point.

I m really craving spaghetti, and it's hard to find the sauce!

I over-bought from imperfect produce. I have like 10 shallots that I need to figure out what to do with them.

Try the Allison Roman shallot pasta or this chicken. I haven't made the pasta but the chicken is delicious:

I definitely need garlic goes in almost everything I cook.

I can see now I finally get some Classico pizza sauce, but there won’t be any pepperoni. My son will also only eat pizza with pepperoni Pickiest kid ever.

Check out your lowly neighborhood Giant. Plenty of fresh garlic (although I like the idea pp suggested of the frozen garlic - I've not seen that at Giant) and pepperoni. Classico stock looked fine last time I checked.

Anonymous wrote:I wonder if the shortages are dependent on where you do your groceries. I've never seen shortages in long grain rice, shallots, garlic, hotdogs and most items listed above. But I know that there is shortage in pizza sauce, online or in stores and for the longest time, pasta. I saw unknown pasta brands recently popping up in stores.

So where do you "do your groceries"?

I bought 4 boxes of chicken rice a roni and discovered that it tastes different than I recall.

My neighborhood bodegas are packed with 50lb bags.

I see 5 lb and 10 lb bags at Giant, Shoppers, and Safeway.

Except for the cleaning items, I've had no trouble finding any of the foods mentioned on here--at least, not since the initial closures.

I buy most staples (canned tomatoes, peanut butter, cereals, etc.) at Costco. I haven't made spaghetti since this started, so I still have pasta sauce and haven't tried to purchase it. No trouble finding garlic, etc. I seldom use garlic salt, so I haven't looked for it, either. I've had not trouble finding hot dogs, either.

My Giant and Food Lion seem to have everything I need.

Yeast is still hard to find and some flours.

Anonymous wrote:Hot dogs. Could not be found during the initial hoarding, stay at home order phase, which was understandable. Then things seemed to get back to normal in terms of stock. Now they’re all gone again, at least at the Wegman’s where I shop. We eat them some but not a ton. It’s just one of those sections that is so obvious when it’s completely empty.

My dad in Texas has noticed hot dog shortages too! He's pissed LOL
