It is incredibly shameful. If found guilty, Smollett should pay restitution in the amount “spent” on resources for the investigation.

Even I think this deserves waiting for more information. It is pretty convenient that this guy went out for an unplanned meal and just happen to run into two guys with ski masks and bleach who knew who he was and wanted to beat him up. On the other hand, given current temperatures in Chicago, a ski mask might be pretty normal.

You can go through the entire thread and you won't find a single post from me saying that I believed Smollett story. Please stick to the facts.

You are not as cautious when it comes to changing titles of threads that are anti-one-of-your-pet-causes.

I heard a rumor that they went ahead with the grand jury today because Smollett didn’t show to talk to detectives like he said he would. I wouldn’t be shocked if he doesn’t show tomorrow, though hopefully his counsel will encourage him to.

I'm no kind of criminal defense attorney but I think it's safe to say the Smollett strategy of refusing to come in be questioned by police has run its course.

This is like the script for one of those formulaic CSI: Jerkstore shows, except that Smollett's scam would have been uncovered at the 23-minute mark and then turn out to be obscuring the rampage of the true "MAGA Maniac" serial killer who gets figured out at the 40-minute mark and is found in Smollett's bedroom closet with a plastic bag and piano wire. Stay tuned!

In all seriousness, this is utterly bizarre. No one will ever believe anything he says, ever again. I think he should change his name and move abroad. After he gets out of jail, that is.

TMZ reports "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett was attacked by two men in a Subway restaurant.

Sources close to the actor told TMZ the attackers put his head in a noose and screamed "This is MAGA country."

It happened around 2 a.m. Monday. As the actor walked out of the restaurant, someone allegedly yelled, "Aren't you that f****t Empire n*****?"

The men were reportedly wearing ski masks, and attacked Smollett, breaking a rib and pouring bleach on him. The actor was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Chicago Police Department is reportedly investigating the incident as battery, and treating it as a possible hate crime.

This is absolutely horrible - and is exactly why so many of us have the feelings we do about Trump supporters.

Is Jussie going to jail for his hate crime?
