Also Trump looks like a loser if he suddenly dumps him in less than a month of launching him.

What a mess.

Didn't I read somewhere that Peter Thiel has since moved on from Vance?

yeah but then he came back

Shrug. Most people don't know or care who Peter Thiel is. And Elon Musk is mostly known for Teslas and destroying Twitter. I get that Trump wants their money, but I'm sure, conman that he is, he could find a way to convince them that dropping Vance was in their best interest.

He called them lazy, so the people in eastern ohio might care enough to not show up and vote

Eastern Ohioans will also remember that Trump promised to reopen the Lordstown factory and bring auto-worker jobs back to eastern Ohio. After he was elected, he completely forgot about eastern Ohio and made absolutely no effort to bring jobs back to the region. Blue collar jobs fled Ohio under Trump. So, watching their jobs leave the region, then promising to bring the jobs back, completely forgetting his campaign promises to them, and then calling them lazy. What a great way to treat your supporters.

I think some of you underestimate how pro-Trump Ohio is overall. I don’t think Ohio is even in play honestly.

I am from Ohio and was just there. No way is Ohio going blue. Ohio is firmly in the red column for President. Moreno will likely lose

Also, those Ohioans that JD insulted are in the eastern part of the state. That is Cleveland (mostly blue), Akron (combo), and Youngstown area (red). He hates the ones close to Cincinnati.

Of course it isn't in play.

The state lines and congressional lines are highly gerrymandered and the voter suppression of blue areas is insane (notice how there are always huge lines un the black areas and the red areas, people just drive up, park easily, run in and out in 1 minutes no line no mus, no fuss?

This is by design and very effective.

While I agree with all this, if you take some time to drive around and talk to people in the state, you’ll see that outside of the city cores, Ohio is genuinely pretty red. Even in the Columbus burbs, in 2016 there were far more Trump signs than Clinton. The DNC was in denial but it was actually pretty ominous that he would carry the state then.

How is Mr. Couch-raping Vance doing these days?

They choose to attack Harris race and play into the accusations of racism?

I mean t's better for the country that they seem totally clueless and disorganized
But from a strategy standpoint it's mind boggling

Even if Trump would've agreed to Haley, she would have had to say "yes" to the job and I don't think she's dumb enough to be Trump's VP. She can run for the top job again in 4 years without having to tie herself to a Trump ticket.

She's already attached to Trump as his ambassador and endorsement

+1

She has tainted any chance she would have had in 2028 or beyond. The GOP needs to have a reckoning that makes anyone with MAGA support and MAGA taint be treated like the former Confederates or how Germany treated the Nazi's.

There should simply be no room in our country for people who have such open hatred for their fellow Americans, regardless of color, creeds or gender orientation.

LOL you are adorable.

They will dump Trump when he finally becomes a liability but they will move on to a new populist/racist movement or demagogue. It’s their only play! They can’t support policies that people actually want- that costs their owners money.

He's been a liability since 2018 and yet they are still letting him drag them around

He costs them but how much? We are witnessing the market of public opinion. He brings in a faction that they would lose if they dumped him. And that group makes their voting bloc bigger than they would be without him. Sad but true.

His pathetic and public collapse when he can no longer be successful as big bully may be his downfall.

Pathetic and weird. That is how he goes down.

I mean, he's cost them the House, the Senate, the WH, a handful of governorships. Gd willing he'll cost them the WH again.

Yes he has a rabid base, and there's plenty of people who think of themselves as reluctant voters who'll also vote for them. But my gd, if the Rs had just nominated someone halfway normal this time they'd be running away with this thing.

+1 in 2016, Republicans had 247 House members, 54 Senators, 68 of 99 state legislative chambers, and 33 governors, 25 of whom presided over GOP trifectas.

Normal … as in continuing the country not having a border, continuing global war and transsexuals knocking out women (literally) in sports. That kind of normal candidate ?

Not sure. I think normal as in not a convicted felon, rapist, serial liar, racist, cognitively impaired, natural security threat. Those kind of things.

Natural security threat? You’re a mental midget.

dp.. I believe you and Trump are the "mental midgets".

https://www.npr.org/2022/11/18/1137474748/trump-tweeted-an-image-from-a-spy-satellite-declassified-document-shows

After multiple issues like this, IC officers wouldn't let Trump keep any of the reports.

Trump and Vance are Ivy educated, wrote NYT bestsellers prior to politics and started multibillion private businesses with no government pay for play.

Harris has produced nothing of consequence and sounds like she’s high when she speaks.

? clearly Trump's "ivy league" education didn't teach him to not tweet our national intelligence to the world.

Your post has f*k all to do with national intelligence. Clearly, Trump is a national security threat.

Additionally, them writing a bio (Trump wrote nothing; he had a ghostwriter who wrote everything) doesn't make him intelligent. A dumbshlt could write a book with a ghostwriter, and we see that with Trump.

I’m worried that MAGA is getting the upper hand in the productivity and intellectual perception compared to Biden and now Harris.

Trump was literally bribed into Penn as a transfer and Vance used DEI and right wing think tanks to get into an Ivy. Neither of them have ever had a real job in their life.

Not to mention that Trump's business was started with a "loan" from his father. It's not like he came from nothing and built a business, many of which have gone bankrupt, including casinos (who the manages to bankrupt a casino).

Many politicians call voters lazy, though they don’t use that exact term. More often they use terms like “unmotivated, disaffected, challenged”

He didn't say voters. He said the people there were lazy and he was able to find away out of there. This was what he wrote in his book, and not something on a campaign trail. But it probably doesn't matter because this information was revealed in his Senate run and it did not prevent him from winning the election.

So you are predicting a split ticket in Ohio; whereas Brown retain his Senate seat, but Trump win the presidential electoral votes?

Anecdata. My parents are MAGA from Ohio. They love Trump but think Vance sounds like a cocky kid fresh out of law school. They dismiss him as a concern because "he will have no real power"

No one likes Vance. He is a super unlikeable guy made worse by the fact that he looks like the Duggar guy who molested his sisters.

At least until Trump's dementia catches up to Biden's, which should be just before the midterms. Then they'll have the cocky kid out of law school struggling to try to hold this country together. When he starts to ignore and replace the Trump cabinet and advisors, that's when all h*ll will break loose. I just hope that the US is still around for the next election if that happens.
