Hi there, thanks for asking!

Paul learned David's name by David telling the dispatcher his name after the dispatcher asked him. It's all right here in this article! I hope your inquisitiveness is satisfied with this transcript from the recording!

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2022/11/04/paul-pelosi-attack-details/8258324001/

To defuse the situation, Paul Pelosi told the dispatcher that he did not need police, fire, or medical assistance. But Pelosi then asked for Capitol Police because they are usually at the house protecting his wife. The San Francisco police dispatcher, Heather Grives, said he called city police and Pelosi said he understood.

“I don’t know, what do you think?” Pelosi asked DePape. Another man was heard responding: “Everything’s good.”

“Uh, he thinks everything’s good,” Pelosi told Grives. “Uh, I’ve got a problem, but he thinks everything’s good.”

The dispatcher told Pelosi to call back if he changed his mind.

“No, no, no, this gentleman just uh came into the house uh and he wants to wait for my wife to come home,” Pelosi said.

The dispatcher asked if Pelosi knew the man and he said he didn’t. The dispatcher then asked for Pelosi’s name and address, which Pelosi gave him. DePape then told him to put the phone down.

The dispatcher asked for the man’s name and he replied, “My name is David.” When the dispatcher asked who David is, Paul Pelosi said he didn’t know.

“I’m a friend of theirs,” DePape said.

But Pelosi said again he didn’t know the man.

“No, he wants me to get the hell off the phone,” Pelosi said.

The dispatcher offered to stay on the line but sent police officers to the house when the intruder forced Pelosi to hang up. The dispatcher issued an “A” priority well-being check.

Was DePape in the bathroom with Pelosi? I assume not, since Pelosi was able to use the phone.

Why don't you read the article and find out? Why don't you read the transcript of the 911 call, cited above? Why are you trying so very very hard to not believe the facts that are available to you?

Please find me the line that states Pelosi was followed into the bathroom by Depape

Why do you insist that Depape followed Pelosi into the bathroom, and what would this signify if he did?

If you ask to take a bathroom break, you typically would close the door. And lock it in this case. I see nothing in the statement where DePape, Pelosi, or police state ‘leave the door open’. Why not close the door, call police, then tell them you have an intruder you don’t know and it’s an emergency?

Dude. What part of an intruder planning to break the kneecaps of the speaker of the house because he delusionally thinks the last election was stolen is NOT odd?

I think it was absolutely disgusting how right wing pundits tripped all over themselves peddling hateful fabrications about "Pelosi had a spat with his gay lover" and misrepresented and outright fabricated every single detail of the case. And worse yet, joked about it, like how hilarious that an elderly man ended up in the hospital for a week after getting his head smashed with a hammer. They literally got EVERYTHING about the case wrong. And now that details about the police report and transcript are coming out, they are outraged that it doesn'y line up with their own prior lies and fabrications and are calling "odd" or it a "cover up." Please just stop this shit already. The best way to avoid getting tripped up by your right wing web of lies is to not lie in the first place. And shame on all of them.

Thank you. It’s what I was too disgusted to say.

+1.
It’s disgusting beyond words. My parents are the same age and it is just an unthinkable scenario.

TFG brought the Right to a point where just floating rumors, innuendo, or outright fabrications is acceptable--the truth is beside the point. The lies become the truth and by the time they are debunked, the people who believed them have moved on to other topics. There is no penalty for constantly lying. They have valorized lying in service of owning the libs.

Were you not paying attention during the Clinton years? The rise of Limbaugh? This monetization of lies and scaremongering became an industry. Kari Lake was still alluding to Vince Foster’s suicide last week. It’s in their DNA.

Notice how the conversation came off the topic at hand - if Pelosi was in the bathroom alone, why leave the door open. He went for a bathroom break. I don’t believe anywhere in the transcript did it say that the perp would not let Pelosi shut the door, or that he tried.
